In-Depth: Hands-On With The Entire Patek Philippe 175th Anniversary Collection, Including The Grandm
In October of 2014, Patek Philippe presented a collection of pieces that the world had been waiting 25 years to see. It was Patek who in 1989 launched the very concept of commemorative watches with its 150th anniversary collection and who today still garners more attention than anyone else in the world of haute horlogerie. We have already shown you the basics of what comprises the Patek 175 collection (see here, here, here, and here) but today we will go hands-on with all the pieces, as well as break down a bit more about what this collection may or may not mean long-term. Previous Commemorative Watches 1 OF 31 In 1989, Patek Philippe released a few limited edition pieces with an inscription on the case back. The most well known is the 3960, which you see above and below. This small time-only watch featured an officer's style case back and extended lugs reminiscent of an early-20th-century piece that resides in the Patek Philippe museum. 2 OF 31 A
5726 steel white dial or 5990
Hello all! Need some advice I can buy a nautilus 5726 white dial and the aquanaut 5167 brand new , or I can just buy the nautilus 5990 new as well. They would be the same price, so do I go with the two pieces or just the 5990?
No love for 5170?
Hi guys,About to pull the trigger on 5170J. It will be my only Patek for a long time. I am surprised though that this beautiful watch does not get much love among the collectors here. Also, it seems to be easily available at many AD both in the US and Europe. Any thoughts why is that? Was the situation similar when 5070J was first released? Will the 5170 ever become collectable? Why is 5960 more popular? Yes, 5960 has more functionality but buying a Patek watch is not only about the features. Thanks very much for your thoughts and comments on this!
New Incoming -BLNR
So it's been a busy month for me. I just picked up a BLNR and love it. Watch was is great shape. Wanted to thank Tom (Ttomczak) for an easy transaction. Would not hesitate to purchase/trade with him. I love this watch. The PCL's are a love hate. I like the bling factor, but according to TRF they are scratch magnets. I plan to pick up a Blue Rubber B. That way I can rotate depending on my mood. The Braclet is smaller than the sub. In don't see any half links. I have every link in and ext expanded at it fits slightly loose (almost perfect) and with ext in feels tight. Miss the glidelock to be honest. Those 2mm increments are amazing. Either way I am happy and tickled pink to finally have my two favorites models.
Worn and Wound + Tudor Black Bay R
Received my W&W Russet Model 2 today 22mm. Installed on my Tudor Black Bay Red. I think it looks good and very comfortable. Quality is excellent. Came with 2 new spring bars also. They are located in Brooklyn, NY but only sell online. I took a few pics for y'll.
