Non-stop running of the Chronograph
Hi,I have an automatic breitling chronomat evolution. The watch has a small seconds hand in a totalizer, and not a big seconds hand. The chronomat opperates in two other totalizers, and it's seconds hand is a big hand. I really like the movement of the chronographs seconds hand, so I run it non-stop (synched to the watch's time). Is it OK to do so? Or can it potentially damage the watches movement in the long term?Thank you! :)
Planet Ocean Service
A friend of mine has a Planet Ocean. He's looking for an indipendant to service it. He had bad luck with Omega's service. If anyone has any recommendations it would be appreciated. Thanks
Subdial question for the Speedy experts!
Hello Folks, I have a ref 3565.80.00. Sometimes like to leave the chronograph seconds hand in the 730pm position so that the printing at 12oclock is readable. Otherwise is partially blocked when the hand is at rest. Is it bad to run the chronograph, stop it but not reset the dials back to 12 oclock - then leave it like that indifinately?
Screw down crown issue
Ok this issue has been happening for a while now on my 2254.50. Let me see if I can explain. What would happened is I thought the threads on the crown or crown tube were cross threaded because all I could turn the crown was about 1/4 to 1/2 turn. I take it to a local watch matcher and he installs a new crown and crown tube. First time I don't like how it sounds when I turn the crown to tighten so he looks at it again. Within a few days it is doing it again, 1/4 turn and tight and it did not seem to pop out to position 1. So I take it back, he orders another crown and installs it. This time it is a crown with a satin finish, he says that is what Omega sent him. At first it will turn 1 to 1 1/2 turns to tight then within a few days it is doing it again, 1/4 turn and tight. This watch maker is an hour away. I had been back and forth several times. So I said I will order the parts and see what I can do.I know another local watch maker that is an authorized Rolex repair. So I order a new cr
