A Week On The Wrist: The Baume & Mercier Capeland Flyback Chronograph
After years of languishing as the often overlooked little brother in la famlia de Richemont, Baume & Mercier is coming back. Flying back, you might say. Leading the return to the company's former glory is a new flagship model, the Capeland Flyback Chronograph, reference 10006. This is a watch that merits more than a passing glance and, even for a self-confessed dive watch junkie, was one I didn't want to send back after a week on my wrist. The Very Best Of Baume, Born Again 2 OF 7 In 2011, Baume et Mercier gave the Capeland series a badly-needed reboot and the company looked to its past for inspiration, drawing from classic designs from the 40s and 50s. While the standard Capeland chronograph is handsome enough, the Flyback Chronograph is a near-perfect marriage of retro design cues with modern size and build. Need more info on Vintage Omega Automatic Seamaster Cosmic
Hi everyone, just need more info on this watch. any things would help me thank you as i know absolutely nothing about it except my grandmother bought this for my grandfather when they first started dating. Must be prity old. also the back watever use to be on there has been completly rubbed of. im guessing its not worth much but it has lots of sentimental value to me. Also i still have the original red box it came in. is it worth getting fixed up like there is a couple of chips on the glass and the band looks like its peeling and has some green on there.
Sign of the times or another reason???
Yesterday, two other friends and myself took ourselves of to London for a few hours, to visit as many AD and vintages shops in Bond Street including Old & New Bond Street. Now for those who know that area, will appreciate that there are several Patek Philippe AD's including their Boutique. Now for the first time ever, I saw pieces in the window, that would a couple of years ago, already had buyers or were kept in the safeThese included pieces across the board such as PC's AC's WT, Chronographs.Models such as: 5140 all metals, 5159, the new PC from last year, 5960P both coloured dials, 5170J, 5130, 5726, 5205, 5980, 5712 etc etc.And this wouldn't be in just one storte but most of themNow is this beacuse of our current favourite phrase Economic Climate, or that AD's are stocking up or that they are just tooooooooo expensive or maybe another reasonOn a slightly different note, I visited the new watch department in Harrods and found it to be a HUGE improvement over their previous one. My Dream Patek - MY ULTIMATE!!!
This is my dream Patek Philippe...contemporary looking with all the complications all without looking 'grandfatherly' and 'old'...truly an amazing watch. Unfortunately, I'd probably have to sell some land or a few cars to get me one of these, so the possibility of getting one is at best 'IMPOSSIBLE'..BUT, I can dream, can't I? I mean - when's the next Mega Millions Lottery? If I get this, I promise...I PROMISE!!! I won't buy another watch EVER EVER EVER!!! Let the drool session begin!!! Anyone else have their ULTIMATE ULTIMATE Patek Philippe? As the latest member of the Grand Complications family, the Ref. 5951 in platinum incorporates a split-seconds monopusher chronograph and perpetual calendar. The case that houses the new Patek Philippe CHR 27-525 PS Q caliber is cushion-shaped like the manufacture's first split-seconds chronograph that dates back to the 1920s.Reference: 5951P-001Movement: Mechanical Manual PP Caliber CHR 27-525 PS Q with 27 jewels, 21,600 vph, 2-arm Gyromax ba
