Speedmaster of some kind. Where to begin?
Hi All,I've been bitten by the Speedmaster bug. I've acquired a few Rolex pieces from trusted sellers on TRF, and will likely be doing the same to acquire a nicely used Speedmaster. Only problem is, while I'm fairly educated on Rolex models, I have no idea where to begin with Omega. Pricing seems to vary wildly for a used Speedmaster (between $1600 - 4800USD). I think my budget is around 1,500-3000. A little help would be appreciated.1. What models to consider? (I'm not a fan of the newer 42mm size, so vintage might be best)2. Is my budget reasonable?3. What to look out for for a first time Omega buyer? Thanks in advance
I was finally was able to wear my new Railmaster
On December 30th, I received my Railmaster from fellow TRF member, xkalifornia (a great guy, by the way). It's the 36.2mm version. He bought it 6 months ago from an AD and provided me with all the paperwork and cards. The price was very right for an essentially new watch with 2 1/2 years of factory warranty left. After looking at several different Seamaster Aqua Tera watches, but had decided to focus on a Railmaster. So, when I got home from a Christmas Eve party, I saw xkalifornia's ad that he put up earlier that evening. I immediately contacted him and a series of e-mails and phone calls followed which culminated in deal a few days later. I have no problem with a watch that is the same size as my 1987 Rolex TT DJ 16013 which I love.Unfortunately, although I could snap the bracelet together, it strangled my wrist (I figured that would happen based on my looking at other Seamaster watches at the local AD). So, I ordered a couple of extra links from my local AD. The AD called t
Was about to order Sub, but AD offered me a BLNR. Need a couple quick ques answered
I was pretty set on picking up a 116610LN, but got a call this afternoon saying a BLNR was available if I wanted it instead. I've never paid much attention to this watch and won't have the ability to see it before purchase (Out of state AD), so I had a couple quick questions..1. Is the dial on the BLNR deep glossy black (similar to the sub), or Matte black (similar to the Explorer). 2. Do you find the bezel writing a bit too large/busy on the BLNR in person? Kind of a weird question, I know, but I hated how the 1166110LN cyclops looked in pictures but found it visually interesting in person. 3. I own a GS Snowflake, Rolex Daytona 116500, and Rolex Explorer 1. Would you add a 116610LN or BLNR?
