In Turbulence: The Jaeger-LeCoultre Gyrotourbillon
Contributed by Dvid BrednTourbillons have come a long way during the past 200+ years of their existence. That time has proven sufficient to provide major ups and downs C and more than one full life cycle for this fairy invention.Beyond those everyday complications which we take for granted, such as the date and the chronograph, I believe it is the tourbillon that remains for the beginner watch lover to get acquainted with. This statement should hold true even more so if considering the latter years of the new millennium, when it has become extremely difficult to find a brand which wouldn't want to take the (continuously waning) advantage of the tourbillon in terms of distinguishing power. Before discussing causes briefly, let's quote Jerome Lambert, chief executive of Jaeger-LeCoultre: "A tourbillon is a must; if you're a watchmaker now, you have to be able to master one complication and it has to be the tourbillon, because it is very visible". Omega newbie please help verify
Hi members I wasn't much of a fan of omega but I've been offered a trade for one. An I'm thinking of considering. All I know is its a 2010 model seamaster 42mm.. What is the secondary market value? How's the movement and reliability? Owner says he's got box and papers, I will be meeting with him face to face for the transaction.. Not sure if I can identify if it's a replica.. Any feedback would much be appreciated.. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Incoming part 2
I have always loved this watch. So happy to finally have received it. Enjoy the pics. More to follow as I get it set up...
waterproof 116710LN
I had a question for you guys familiar with the technical aspect of the waterproofing process I had a Sub about 10 years ago that that I had a problem with.I waited to service it about 9 years when I went in to get the service done they did an estimate at the service center and told me that somehow water or water vapor managed to cause the dial to flake is this related to steam or maybe showering with the watch on a frequent basis I also wear the watch at the gym frequently wood either the hot tub or the sauna cause any problems do you think. At the time it was about a $1,500 bill to have the dial replaced all the hands were placed and complete the service I really don't want to have to go through with that again ever by all means please give me your opinions on this
Cellini Time
I've agonised for a while now between a two tone 36mm DJ or a Cellini Time for formal occasions. I'm pretty sure I will go for the latter but I would appreciate comments from you good folk and I'd particularly like to see any wrist shots you have. Thanks.
