The Mk II Fulcrum "American Milsub" Dive Watch
Mk II is widely known for not only being one of the first online micro brands but also for producing a great many well made homages to many a great sport and military watch of the past. Mk II is run by a perfectionist named Bill Yao, who transitioned from modding Seiko divers to making his own watches for an adoring online crowd that frequently pre-orders new models long before they will be delivered. The latest model to be announced by Mk II is called the Fulcrum and it's being advertised as an "American Milsub" and it's Mk II's vision of a?theoretical milsub made for the American military.We got to see a prototype of the Fulcrum at Baselworld earlier this year and regardless of its inspiration, the physical watch is impressive. Measuring a sport watch-ideal 42 x 15mm, the Fulcrum is ready for whatever your day holds, with an anti-magnetic, bead-blasted steel case, uni-directional 12 hour bezel, domed sapphire crystal, an HeV and 300m (1000ft) of water resistance. Seconds hand set at 12 o'clock or sweep?
Breitling Chronograph owners....I just recently purchased my first automatic chronograph, a Hamilton Khaki with a Valjoux 7753 movement. My question is this... For the longevity of the movement; should I (a) leave the second hand fixed at the 12 o'clock position or (b) set the second hand to sweep around. I know that with quartz movement chronographs, setting the second hand at 12 will prolong the battery. Thank you in advance for your insight!

Last Sunday I went to Belgium...
....and picked up a few of my vintage Omega's.My watchmaker did a overhaul on them.I picked up 5 but I have only pictures of two of them, rest will follow soon..First this one, bought it on Ebay for only a few $$, worth a try I thought...When the postman brought it it was horrible, the case was very dirty and the movement made a terrible noise..But then again, what can you expect for only $30,-....After my watchmaker was done with it it looked like this...Needless to tell you all that I am VERY happy with the result.The second one was the Omega that I gave to my mom about a year ago.After a complete service it's ready for years of duty..Gave it back to her last evening, she was so thrilled she had tears in her eyes..Like I promised, the rest will follow soon..

(its going to be a long story...)made a last minute decision yesterday afternoon to get a set of matching Omega watches instead of jewllery as part of wedding present to ourselves (more like an excuse for me to get more watches....). the W2B is an Omega girl, and she would not wear anything else (almost)so went to a couple of shops yesterday evening and tried a gents Constallation, hated it. I dont know why Omega has very limited ladies watches.anyway, i was thinking of his & her Seamaster 300m, then realised it isnt formal enough for wedding, and I have been wanting a Speedmaster to the collection. spotted 40mm silver faced Speedmaster Date and a matching ladies 35.5mm Speedmaster Reduced (the one with Mother of Pearl dial) from the catelogue, so the quest began....
