Guidance over buy pre-owned
Greeting helpful souls. Can anyone please provide advice on buying pre-owned. What should I be wary of/looking out for? Also what's the best way to verify authenticity & to confirm service history. Here's one I've found.... your comments please:.chrono24.co.uk/audemarspi...-id3919023.htm
Cheapest PP Perpetual Calendar with a Second Hand
I'd love a Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar, but I'm not willing to settle for a watch without a second hand. From what I can see (Chrono24), the cheapest model that's a full perpetual calendar with a second hand is the 5059G. Going rate seems to be > $40,000 USD.Are there any other models people would recommend to keep an eye out for? Thanks.
Price increase in Canada!
Was at the AD today. . .price increase starting May 1. 8-10% across the board, not a light increase given the starting price point. Part of the increase may be currency related as the Canadian dollar has weakened against the Franc. Luckily I picked up my latest in January!
How do you care for your PPs...
Hi all,Was wondering if you keep all your PPs on winders (assuming they are at least annual calendars) or do you let them run out of juice if storing for much longer (circa 6m to 12m+)?Also how often do you get the spring bars replaced or take it in for a quick look at PP service? Thanks so much
PAM 184 and 242
I do not know a whole lot about Panerai and have been doing some research on the brand. While doing my research, I see that at least the 184 and 242 have a JLC movement. What are the thoughts on the JLC movement? Will the limited number of timepieces with this movement, OPXIII I think, make them more collectible or more valuable?
