First Experience with Clearwater Service Center
So as some of you may know from my older post, i just got a used 15300 Royal Oak which arrived running several minutes fast per day. I sent it off the the AP service center in clearwater for diagnosis and repair. The watch is just over three years old but the previous owner never signed up for the third year warranty so the warranty period was expired. I was afraid I was going to get slammed with a 1k+ repair bill on a watch i had just purchased. Anyway, just hours after receiving my watch, I got a call from Betsy at AP customer service. She told me they were currently diagnosing my watch and that I would get a call the next morning with the diagnosis and repair estimate. This morning bright and early, I get another call from Betsy saying that the watch is apparently running fast due to displaced oils causing the hairspring to stick. She told me that even though the watch is out of warranty, they are going to do a complete service for free and give me a two year warranty on the watch.
2500 or 8500 ?
Paid a visit to one of my local A.D yesterday with the hope of looking for a Planet Ocean Liquid Metal L.E. As you guessed, they didn't have one. On display in front of me was the 45.5mm new Planet Ocean ceramic with orange 6-9-12. I tried this on and was impressed with the quality and weight of the watch and also how the 6-9-12 reflected the light, quite superb! We talked watches for about 20 minutes and I left with the salesman's card and that he would phone Omega UK about the availability of the LM LE and phone me when he has some more info. He phoned today when he said he would with the news that Omega UK have back orders for 77 of the LM LE and couldn't promise that all will be fulfilled. He also mentioned that the 42mm version of the new PO 8500 with the orange 6-9-12 is also on back order with a total of 74 people waiting. Now comes the dilema, do I buy the 45.5mm 8500 PO which is in stock or wait and see if a PO LM LE comes up?The LM LE is priced at ?3700 with no discount due
Omega Service Center
Hello guys, new to the forum...Where is the best Omega Service Center aside from the one in NJ?I had my speedmaster serviced there but man...it took 8 weeks to fix a tiny screw in the bracelet...after a year and a half, that tiny screw came off again and i do not know where to find one to fix it myself aside form getting it from the service centers....any ideas?BTW it is a Speedmaster date with an 18mm stainless steel bracelet. I replaced the screw temporarily with a hard plastic insert as you can see in the pics to fix it.
