JeanRichard Aquascope
JeanRichard’s new Aquascope embodies the essence of 1960s design. Its round dial and curvaceous tonneau case instantly take you back to the decade of mini skirts and bell bottoms, when the desire for bold personal expression drove art, fashion and design into new frontiers. This modern Aquascope retains the original’s monoblock case protecting dual crowns, and it houses JeanRichard’s in-house caliber JR1000 movement. The 40mm x 44.5mm Aquascope case is produced in-house. It is polished and satin-finished stainless steel and features an external bidirectional rotating black bezel, similar to that of the 1960s original. This bezel can be used to indicate a remaining dive time. To ensure accurate setting, the bezel is notched (120 teeth, i.e. a half-minute setting). To prevent ill-timed movements from an unexpected impact, JeanRichard has incorporated a safety system. When the crown at 9 o'clock is screwed in, the bezel cannot move. Looking for buying advice...long post
I'm about to close on my first AP and thankfully, it'll be my grail ROO (rb2ti). I know that everyone says buy the seller and not the watch. I did reach out to a few reputable sellers here and they did find me a few rb2s but there's one that I am going to go with as it's in better condition for marginally more. This watch is being sold by a private seller. First, the seller (original owner) has been very accommodating with pics of the watch, box, books, etc and whatever pics I requested. The watch appears to be complete. Second, I asked for a pic of the back and called AP clearwater to confirm the serial number and everything matches. Third, I reached out a friend of mine that lives in the seller's city and asked him if he knew anyone at the local AP dealer that could look over the watch for me. He gave me a name that he trusts and I called the him at the boutique. Apparently they are no longer selling AP earlier this year (although they are still listed on AP's website) and s
Patek Philippe stylus
I am new to the patek world and I'm sure some may know about this already, but I just realized it this morning that the stylus that came with my patek 5990 is 18k white gold. I noticed the little stamps on the stylus this morning when changing the date on my watch. It is unbelievable that something so small would have so much detail and for patek to finish it in solid gold. So elegant. Do all patek watches with date come with solid gold stylus?a couple pictures below
