Report on my Patek 5205G...............
The first six weeks with my 5205G………This is the first review of a watch that I have ever done, so please bear with me, especially if the construction of it , is not quite in sync!As most of the regular members will know, and probably frustrated after, I have been in love with this piece, especially with the darker coloured (grey) dial from the moment that I first saw the photos that came out from Basel 2010. So much so that when I saw a dummy model at my AD the following month, I asked them to let me know, when the first one came in. In the meantime, not having the cash available for such a purchase, I went about doing some “Wheeling & Dealing” of my small collection, which included my FP Journe Black Label Calendrier, which to a degree I still very much regret selling. Long story short, I received a phone call from my AD back in September asking me if I was still keen on getting a 5205G? Yes was my reply, so after a small deposit had been placed and
Dilemma, what to do??
Recently the 5980 has been giving me an itch, especially the grey dial version, (though I have yet to see one) which as hard as I try to resist it, is a persistent little sod.Now unfortunately funds is a little short at the moment. But would you consider doing the following trade? My 5205G against the 5980A? Now I understand that they are two very different watches and complications, but I would very much appreciate your views and comments.Thank you.RegardsTony
Stainless case back for I think 6605 Datejust?
I'm looking to replace the back of what I believe is a 1956 Rolex Datejust 6605. Does anyone here have a lead on this part? The back has someone's rather sentimental engraving, which I'd like to remove.
This 16610 look okay?
Up for sale locally is this 16610. It's a Z serial but doesn't have rehaut engraving. Watch only, he's not an experienced seller on local forumsHe wants 5200(us)What do you all think? It was flagged on the local forum for some reason, not sure why. He said it was because it was original posted as a V serial and didn't know it was a Z, and it has no rehaut engraving so the info didn't initially match upSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
