Mexico City's Watch Show: What The SIAR Is Like
You don't get warnings before traveling to most cities C at least I don't C but I did get a few precautionary tales before traveling a few hours south of Los Angeles via plane to Mexico City. One of the highest altitude cities in the world, Mexico City is also one of the most populated, with about 20 million people. It is vastly spread out over a wide area, and the colorful buildings add a friendly sheen to what is in reality a mixture of haves and have-nots in what I understand to be a rather dangerous place. This, and a regular selection of "gringo kidnapping" stories up in LA framed the beginning of my first trip to what was once Tenochtitlan, the capital city of the Aztecs, and the current home of the annual luxury watch show SIAR.The Salon Internacional Alta Relojeria is the brainchild of a group of passionate watch people and journalists in Mexico City that by day run the Spanish language watch magazine Tiempo de Relojes. Captain of the SIAR ship is Mr. Carlos Alonso, a worthy sh
One watch, 3 personalities...
Well, it looks like I'm really diggin' my Diver. I first got it 31 days ago, and I can't recall ever being so happy with any other watch. Ever. And I've had quite a few over the years... But back to the title of the post, I wanted to share how versatile the Diver really is. Yes, you may be able to say the same for other AP's, but since I have a Diver, this is what I'll share. With the original black rubber strap is is a true sports watch. It looks like a diving watch, and plays the part really well. Goes great with casual looks, it is light, it is comfortable and looks like a killer high-end tool watch.rubber.jpgBut when you add an original AP Hornback leather strap and deployant, it transforms into a more sophisticated and elegant piece, one that works great with a sports jacket, or business casual look. It still is reasonably light, and extremely comfortable, and having a deployant makes it super easy to get on or off your wrist, while keeping the strap looking like new
15300 on strap (pictures)
Hi, I'm on the hunt for a 26300, recently sold my off shore and got a 15300 + cash as payment. The plan is to sit on this until a roc shows up, I'm located in Norway. And they are quite hard to find overhear. So I'll probably need to keep this for some time :) quite a nice problem.. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1425306700.046702.jpgCame with strap, buckle and plots.. Got me a new PAM 422
Hey Guys,So after going into an AD about a year and a half ago with my mind set on a complicated Pam in the form of the 270. I discovered it was discontinued and replaced with the 533. While I liked the 533. I didn't love it mainly due to the stealthed out black hands. Anyway I stumbled across the 372 and 422. The 372 while nice was far too simple for my liking. I know it's loved and adored by the paneristi and for good reason but just not for me. The 422 with running seconds and the power reserve is just perfect! I even got past the date and manual wind. Reason being the manual wind forces you to have the ritual of interacting with you timepiece which is quite lovely to experience the butter smooth winding action. Date. Well. How often do you check that and even keep it in sync :pAnyway. Got a great deal from my AD and although I missed out on tax free after trying my luck I am still over the moon with it. No buyers remorse here!Pic time....Now barring a pam689 being in a store I walk
DSSD owner considering a PAM 372 or 557
Hi all,Hope everyone had a lovely holiday!I'm JUST ABOUT to pull the trigger on a PAM557,but can't find any comparison shots with a Rolex DSSD for size. Considering the PAM372 is so comparable to the PAM557, I was wondering if anyone had some side by side shots with the DSSD they could share to push me over the edge (or save me from making a mistake) ??Thanks much,Andrew
