Introducing The Brand New A. Lange & S?hne Lange 1, With New In-House Caliber (Live Pics, Full Specs, & Pricing)
This is one of the quietest new releases of SIHH, but arguably one of our favorites. There is a brand new Lange 1. Most people didn't really pick up on it because aesthetically, the new Lange 1 looks just like the old Lange 1 (with two slight, slight differences I'll get into). But in fact, the watch you see here has an entirely brand new, built from the ground-up, in-house caliber that offers some subtle but meaningful upgrades. Let's get into it. 2 OF 6 The caliber inside the Lange 1 was among Lange's first ever developed, meaning it has been a quarter century since the design of this caliber began. The men and women of Glashtte felt it was time, though no one asked for it, to give its most iconic model an internal upgrade. So, beginning with this model year, the Lange 1 will house caliber L121.1, the 50th new caliber since its re-birth two decades ago. Lange is quick to point out that the goals and aesthetics of this new caliber are indeed the same as the original, th
Aqua terra daydate
Hey everyone,I'm new to omega and I'm really only familiar with the speedmaster. I tried on an blue dial AT8500 and really liked it. I went on the website and saw the AT daydate and liked that even more. Does anyone own one and what are your thoughts on the watch? I love love to see some pics if you have them.
Went into a Rolex AD in Cabo - Possibly some insider information
Im in Cabo for vacation right now and happened to see a Rolex sign. Walk in and this store has just about every high end watch in 1 place. I'm talking like Hublot, ton's of Panerai, Cartier, AP, and a lot of cheaper ones like Gucci/etc. But best of all, a pretty nice stock of Rolexes. Literally the biggest stock of Rolex I've ever seen at an AD in person. Seemed to have everything besides the BLRN, Hulk, SS daytona, and SS Subs.I get to talking with the sales guy for like an hour and a half. I asked about price increases, he said he wasn't really worried about them because 'yes they're coming, but might not be till end of the year and it wont be significant'. -Now that just threw me off, because the local ad (in South Dakota) was freaking out saying shortage/AHHHH/:omg:/etc and prices are going to increase 10-22% probably around April.Asked about the shortage and again he's like yeah they're limiting supply on Professional models or at least making them harder to get unless you have a
A watch for my mom
So, my mom passed away October 2016. I've been wanting to do something to honor her that I could pass on to one of my sons (I had previously inherited a 1680 from my dad who passed in 2005). After much research and internal debating, I've decided to go with an Explorer 214270 (current release). This is not a piece to add to my collection. My reasoning for this specific watch is that I believe this piece embodies many of the characteristics of my mom. 1. Simplicity, not complicated 2. Resilience (never gave up) 3. Dependability and reliability 4. She never changed or wavered over the years, except for her appearance (getting older) 5. Elegant and beautiful, even in blue jeans. Never overstatedWhen it really comes down to it, I don't care what anyone else thinks about my decision. But, I am curious to any similar stories that you all may have. These timepieces can be a statement piece for some, and for others, they represent different life markers for ourselves (They can te
Are the OP39 and. Explorer 1 too similar?
Over the past year I’ve sold all of my watches because I wanted to start over with watches that I really love, and make sense for me to have “forever”. I started with the rhodium OP39, which I do love. I think a small three watch collection is perfect for me, because I don’t like them to be sitting unworn for long periods. The other Rolex that I’m absolutely in love with is the 2016 explorer I. In a small collection, do you feel these watches are too similar, sharing the same case?
