Project X Designs "Stealth" Customized Rolex Submariner Watch
Since the media is on the topic, I am going to dedicate this post to Charlie Sheen. More specifically Charlie Sheen in the movie Platoon - because this set of watches from Project X Designs looks precisely like something his character would have worn in Platoon. See how nicely that works out? And since we know Charlie Sheen is a big time watch lover (and warlock), he would have likely happily worn one of these (good actor playing solider wears good watch acting to be soldiers' watch) . This watch is Project X Designs' latest Rolex mod called the Stealth Mk. III and Mk. IV. Which means there should have been a Mark I and II before it.I last wrote about Project X Designs here. As you recall, they have no relationship with Rolex, but rather take new Rolex timepieces and perform various modifications on them. The results are usually very cool. Rolex modifiers are pretty common, but those who do it well are rare. The Project X Stealth watches are meant to hearken back to military Rolex Subm
the famous patented Graham-London left-hand co-axial fast-action control device
Intriguing and extremely alluring, the Chronofighter Trigger Back in Black Rattrapante is distinguished by its refined design. The watch features a case with black PVD-treated carbide on stainless steel. It is 16 mm thick and measures 46 mm in diameter. Embraced by the case is a black galvanic dial completed with black luminous indexes
The brand's novel creation is endowed with the famous patented Graham-London left-hand co-axial fast-action control device, which guarantees accurate handling of the watch.
First Patek; I think I got it right - 5146g
I have always been intrigued by the Patek brand, and have been collecting watches for a few years, with Patek always in the back of my mind. Until recently, I never really cared for the simple time only models, and I felt the Complicated variants were out of my price range. Eventually I came around to the basic Calatrava, and I was about to bite the bullet on a Patek 5296g-010 until I realized that if I traded in a few watches I could get into a complicated Patek, which is what I really wanted. I would rather have just a few watches that I really love, than a bunch that I am just merely happy with. So, I went shopping, thinking I would want the 5205 , but when I saw the 5146 in person I realized that was the one for me.It has all the Patek DNA of their classic range of grand complications (3940, 3970, 2499 etc..), but has a cleaner Sub-dials than the Perpetuals, has the ever useful power reserve display, and a Second hand, which I really like. The size and thickness are a perfect balan
PAM292 Lug Replacement - Help
Hey Folks,So I purchased my first PAM last month and absolutely love it.Only issue is that I replaced the strap and when installing the new strap I noticed the 4 rubber ends (specifically the area that inserts into the case) are pretty mangled, loose and/or torn up.One rubber end was so loose and mangled it actually got stuck in the case and i had to pull it out with tweezers, the others are kind of bunched up and they protrude from the case when installed.I'm definitely less concerned about cosmetics here and more concerned about the function and reliability of the lugs, but being a brand new watch, I also want it to look exactly as it was meant to look.OK so moving forward, I called Panerai NYC and asked if they could sent me replacement lugs. I told them even though the watch is under warranty I would simply buy them to speed the process. They told me no matter what, I need to ship them my entire watch so they can examine it and order the parts after they fill out the proper forms a
Pepsi in WG and SS - why?
Seems strange for Rolex to offer the Pepsi in both metals. I get the different dials and braclet but this seems odd to me. Thoughts?
