AP Divers
Haven't posted very much to this forum, but have been reading for a while. I bought a 15202 steel last year and am thinking about adding a diver. I have been looking at the white/blue boutique only dial that launched in 2017. Apologies if this has been discussed at length before, but what is generally considered the taxonomy of desirable AP divers? The crazy colors from this year and last year seem too much to me. But what is considered the canonical example of a modern AP diver and how does something like the white/blue version fit in? Is the ceramic significantly better? Any thoughts appreciated. Rose gold for daily casual wear? (5227R)
Hi everyone-Another one of those threads asking for advice, please bear with me. I am currently debating between the 5227G and 5227R as my next PP. I have always worn either steel or white gold and I once owned a Two Tone GMT II years back. I'm taking a liking to the rose gold Calatrava but one of my main considerations is suitability for daily wear. Is the rose gold flashy in a daily setting? I work in a very casual environment and wear jeans, a short sleeved polo and Oxford shoes to work almost everyday and I'd like to consider myself a very low key guy. I am wondering how the rose gold would look as opposed to say, yellow or white gold. I have tried on the watch twice at an AD and it seems ok, but with the harsh lights and all I really could not judge how it would look in a normal setting. Any thoughts, inputs and/or photos would be much appreciated. ThanksSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pam 590??
Am thinking about adding this model to my collection. Think its face is real cool and unique while also a very limited US collection available.Anybody have any thoughts or pics?
Would you buy a SS Model from an AD at a premium?
So I popped into the AD that I bought my BLNR last year. This is an AD in a small town in India. They had one yachtmaster and a white dial milguass in stock. I asked the owner about the availability of a Sub date, Sub no date, BLNR, ceramic daytona and blue dial SS Sky-D. He mentioned all available for order with delivery in 2 days. The prices he gave me are similar to TRF seller markups currently. For e.g. for the Ceramic daytona and Blue SS Sky-D, he is asking approx $18.9K each. The warranty card would be in my name and dated on date of sale. He is asking $10.6K for the BLNR.So my question to you all is - would you do it? I am torn, I want one of each of the white dial daytona and the blue sky-d but i can't get myself to pay over MSRP for a mass produced product.
Rolex GMT master II 16710 bezel turning issue?
Hi All,I have noticed that the bezel of my GMT 16710 turns smoothly counter clockwise but is very stiff and hard to turn counter clockwise . I have already given it a good clean but it doesn't seem to make much difference .Anyone else notice this issue with the older GMTs? Mine is a D serial. I am now wondering if it's worth me taking it to the RSC or not . I rarely use the bezel and even if I do I can always just rotate it counterclockwise . It does bug me a little though !
