The Sj?? Sandstr?m Royal Capital Is The Latest Luxury Watch From Sweden
When it comes to new watch brands on the market, we often encounter a lack of transparency with regards to the origin of the movement (for instance, a low-cost quartz ticker). If the new brand manages to pick up a mechanical movement of some sort, they still might bury it in the information, almost as if they are ashamed they have not created their own. With the new Sj?? Sandstr?m Royal Capital watch, things are definitely a bit different, in that regard. For starters, let us talk about Sj?? Sandstr?m. They are a Swedish company (not too many watches coming from there as of late), with roots going back to 1986. It was then that two engineers, Christer Sj?? and Mikael Sandstr?m, came together over a love of watches. Their first effort was an automatic piece produced in 1993, and a worldtimer introduced in 1997. Now, in 2014, they're introducing the Sj?? Sandstr?m Royal Capital, a new watch with an interesting movement. As I mentioned at the start, many new brands try to hide where the mov
In-Depth: Breguet And The Legion Of Honor Present 'Breguet: Art And Innovation In Watchmaking
The 19th of September marked the date of the opening of what is, without exaggeration, one of the most exciting horological events I can recall in a long time. Montres Breguet, and the Legion of Honor (one of the San Francisco Museums of Art) have partnered to create the exhibition, “Breguet: Art And Innovation in Watchmaking,” which presents over 80 watches, clocks, and instruments spanning a wide period in early Breguet production, including the most productive years of Breguet himself, as well as those of his son, Antoine-Louis. 1 OF 34 The exhibition was years in the making and planning, and is co-curated by Martin Chapman, the curator in charge of decorative European arts and sculpture for the Legion of Honor, and Emmanuel Breguet, curator of the Breguet Museum co-located with the Breguet boutique on the Place Vendôme in Paris (which we took you inside here). Works in the exhibition have been drawn from a number of sources, including the holdings of
YM or TT SM300?
Hi guys,I have a friend who's offering to swap his TT rose gold seamaster 300 with my Yachtmaster. On the one hand I really like how the seamaster looks. It's just stunning in person. But on the other hand, my YM is such a great all around companion. Actually, if I had both I'm all set haha! But unfortunately, it can't be. It has to be one or the other. What do you guys think, keep the YM or swap it?Thanks!lorsSent from my LG-H818 using Tapatalk
Patek, which one?
Hello,I'm 26, my dream was to own a Patek Philippe since I started my collection, 5 years ago. I have the opportunity right now to buy one, but I have a question.I have tried different brands, 7 Seiko, Luminox, Fortis, Casio, 2 Longines, Oris, Breitling, 2 Omega, 2 Panerai, 5 Rolex, Blancpain... but I always said, finish with a Patek. Well, after try different brands and watches, finally I've decided to sell all the watches that I own right now (2Pam 1Omega) but keep my Rolex 14060m ''no cosc'' THE BEST WATCH EVER! My question, what do you think, I should buy a Nautilus 5711/1a or Aquanaut 5167a on rubber strap? The movement inside I think is the same. Just the outside is different. As I said, I'll keep my 14060m and the Patek, both for everyday watch :)I will finish to collect watches if I buy the Patek? yes, I'll try. I will dedicate my time to other things, and I will buy a Patek in the future with complications, and give the Nautilus or Aquanaut to my future son.The Patek will be my
