How The Talk Of Time Has Changed
How we see time influences how we communicate and perceive time. Time for some people is waiting for hands on a dial to move into position, while for others it is carefully watching seconds precisely count away on a digital display. When I was growing up the terms "analog" and "digital" only had reference to clock and watch faces. It was not until I was a bit older did I realize those words had meaning not related to telling the time.If someone were to ask you what time it was and the analog dial above represented the picture on your watch, what would say? You could say it is just after noon, or half past 12. You might say that it is 12:30, or 'about' 12:30. Or you might not say anything at all and just show them your watch face for them to read in their own way. It fascinates me how reading the time comes in so many flavors. Most of them based on how we subjectively see the time.In the first grade I was taught how to read an analog clock dial in school. I recall the lessons pretty wel
Omega Constellation 'rattle'
I have a recently acquired 1950s Omega Constellation with 501 movement.I took it along to a specialist to check it was all genuine & get an insurance valuation. That was all good, which was pleasing. The guy in the shop noticed the rattle & said the rotor sounded loose, which would be fixed by a service. I had been finding the rattle pretty annoying (think ring-pull in a Coke can & you'd be in the ball park).Off it goes & three weeks later I go in to pick it up. Exact same rattle. I realise some rotor noise is to be expected, but the guy in the shop thought it was excessive & they've handled many of that type of watch over the years. The shop agree to send it off again. So, what do we think are the chances of it coming back better this time?
Forum a.d.?

Poll time: On style alone (if priced the same) 5711/1A or 5712/1A
A couple of threads lately on this and I'm curious what a cumulative poll would like. Just based on your style preference if the two were priced the same.
Went into a Rolex AD in Cabo - Possibly some insider information
Im in Cabo for vacation right now and happened to see a Rolex sign. Walk in and this store has just about every high end watch in 1 place. I'm talking like Hublot, ton's of Panerai, Cartier, AP, and a lot of cheaper ones like Gucci/etc. But best of all, a pretty nice stock of Rolexes. Literally the biggest stock of Rolex I've ever seen at an AD in person. Seemed to have everything besides the BLRN, Hulk, SS daytona, and SS Subs.I get to talking with the sales guy for like an hour and a half. I asked about price increases, he said he wasn't really worried about them because 'yes they're coming, but might not be till end of the year and it wont be significant'. -Now that just threw me off, because the local ad (in South Dakota) was freaking out saying shortage/AHHHH/:omg:/etc and prices are going to increase 10-22% probably around April.Asked about the shortage and again he's like yeah they're limiting supply on Professional models or at least making them harder to get unless you have a
