Parmigiani Ovale Pantographe Watch
A long time ago English watchmakers Vardon and Stedman produced an oval-shaped pocket watch with telescopic hands designed to be properly sized (in length) no matter what part of the dial they were pointing to. You see, back then people cared about stuff like proper hand size (ahem...) on dials. Parmigiani apparently acquired the piece and restored it in 1997. The complicated mechanism, while not new, was very unique and they called it a pantograph (pantographe). The idea of hands that follow and match the contours of a dial is very cool, and in 2011 Parmigiani produced a limited edition watch with a pantograph complication.For 2013, the Pantographe is back as part of a new watch collection from Parmigiani with lovely oval cases called the "Ovale" collection. Like the rest of the Master Collection, the Longines Master Collection new retrograde Moonphases uses an automatic winding mechanical movement calibre L707.2 which is fully developed for Longines. The calibre of base is Switzerland ETA A07 L31, with 25 jewels and designed to provide 48 hours power reserve.

Ok gents, here we go. Ordered this guy back in October when I was told the new watches would start hitting ADs. Needless to say we all know how deliveries in the watch world work for new products. Lag city. I'm told it's one of the first to hit US markets but who knows. It's too new to really comment on the wearability etc. I think it's a real knockout though. The black is so deep and glossy. It appears impeccably finished. Im still learning how to get the case back open a little more seamlessly, totally scared I'm scratching up the case back in the process. The leather strap is gonna need some work to break in as it's super stiff. It's the glossy gator so it dresses it up. I'll look into matte options on strap from PP, hope they make them. Sacrificed my 5167 on bracelet to help with sticker shock. Here she is:
