Longing for (another) Speedmaster Pro
So, long story short, last year I finally added a 3570.50 to 16 year old SMP 300 diver. I really loved it... But not for a daily wear due to the lack of date and, to some extent, due to the relative fragility of the hesalite that marks quite easily. Also, I was not smitten with the daily manual winding. In a course of two months, the watch stopped at least a twice, whenever that had never happened to me over the previous 16 year. I thus decided to get a Rolex BLNR as it suits my daily lifestyle that includes overseas trips and also has historical relevance in aeronautics AND decided to sell the Speedy to my brother to enable him such a fine time piece.I love my BLNR... But I am starting to develop a (serious) itch to add back a Speedy pro in my collection. I am note sure if I should get another 3570.50 (or whatever the new reference number is with the large display case) or if I should aim for a serious vintage piece (ie, one with a cal. 321). May be even one that is a worthy limited e
Vintage DeVille Expert Opinions Please!
Vintage DeVille Expert Opinions Please!Hi All, today received this circa 72 DeVille from OCWATCHCO. I am a vintage Rolex guy trying to get into my first vintage Omega. I am learning about OCWATCHCOs reputation and now question if this is a redial or a franken. I fell in love with the dial and still think it is a tropical dial. It is truly beautiful and looks like authentic aging under a loupe. The seconds hand fell off the hand stack and was lying flat on the dial upon receipt. Does it look wrong - does anything look off??? I have a return privelege and will return it if I believe it to be a put together. Than you so much for your help. Russ

On the verge of splurging on a Speedy Pro ("Moon Watch")
Hello everyone,I'm new to these forums. Been reading from the outside in for about 2 weeks now (but very extensively) as I look to buy my first luxury wristwatch. It's a pretty exciting phase for me at the moment, graduating university in a few months with a full time contract in place for work, and now that I'm entering the business world I really want to look my best - so I decided to look into watches. Somehow I've become extremely fascinated in them with just ~20 hours of research and learning put into the subject.I've narrowed down my options to two models of the Omega Speedy Pro. They are 1) The typical NASA Approved 3570.50 or 2) 3573.50. I will also be getting an authentic Omega leather band with whichever one I end up purchasing, so that I can have both steel bracelet and leather strap to choose from. From what I understand, they are identical except that the 3573.50 has a sapphire crystal cover and bottom (which is transparent), meanwhile the 3570.50 has a Hesalite crystal on
Has the 5711 market topped out?
A few months ago any 5711 was going quickly from the uk Grey's at prices increasingly, more and more over retailNow, in the shopping frenzy season, I'm wondering if they're still hanging about with the usual uk greys etc because the prices are just too high now?32750 for a ?19000 (new rrp) blue ... ?27500 for a white...?14,000 over retail!!! Wow...
