Omega Boutique NYC Service and Experience
Hey all,I had a weird issue with my speedster recently that land me in the service department of the NYC Omega Boutique. The issue was apparently caused by over lubrication from a recent service which in turn led to some oil to seem slightly onto the dial. Also, while I was there i told them the watch was running about 10 seconds fast per day, which normally won't bring me all the way in to NYC but since i was there maybe they could have a look. So, after about 15-20 minutes, we discovered my watch was actually magnetized which is why it was running so fast (actually +11 seconds per day) and the excess oil was easily absorbed with some special puddy the watch maker uses for exactly this problem. Now the dial is clean, the watch is running +3 seconds per day, the case is pressure tested and I am a happy Omega owner, all free of charge. They even send me home with a nice Omega red zippered travel pouch! (see pics)Obviously I am very pleased with the outcome of the visit, but I also have t
Omega Seamaster 2254.50 + Panerai = Winder Recommendations?
Hello everyone, Been a while since Ive posted but I am looking to purchase a Panerai Luminor Marina new within the next month or two. It will join my small collection so far containing one other automatic, my 2254.50. My seamaster was serviced by Omega about a year ago and given a clean bill of health and ive been wearing it daily since I got it back. I have never had to let it rest for more than a few hours at a time.Enter my next purchase, I am wondering how to go about buying a good quality winder that can hold 2/3 watches for under $600. I dont want to cheap out on a winder and eventually ruin my movements to state the obvious.. I have been reading here about winders and stumbled across the Orbita watch winder website and used their resource to determine my 1120 calibre movement can be wound bi-directionally and take a maximum of 650 rotations per day. Is this true? Call me paranoid but I am looking for others insights on this Essentially I am looking for any input on anyones succe
Omega Boutique in NYC Today, 11/13!
And I am going to 5th Ave in NYC today to buy my 6 yr old girl an American Doll for an early Xmas present, and my 2.5 yr old son some stuff from FAO Schwartz, before the holiday shopping madness starts. Maybe I can get something for me for early Xmas too! Plan on hitting the Omega boutique (among others).
