Show Your Vintage Omega.
My precious: Chronostop Genve ST 146.012/Cal 920. This Omega Chronostop is from 1969 (birth year), 41mm, and made for Italian market only. I got this one on my honeymoon trip to Vienna in 2005. I was there again recently and tried to find the shop (it was located close to the Opera) but unfortunately Time Fair is not on the market anymore. This Omega will never leave my collection. Please show your favorite Vintage Omega! p.s. Chronostop History and infos: .old-omegas/chronostop.html
Advice for Patek newbie
Hello all,My apologies for asking a question I'm sure has been addressed.I'm very interested in a 5712, and this being my first Patek, I'm looking for advice. 1) I have no existing relationship with the only Patek AD in my state. So am I going to be laughed out of the store if I ask about a 5712 list (a la DaytonaC)?2) If my lack of a relationship with local Patek AD means getting one is going to be extremely difficult, I am open to going gray market. My hesitation here is with the papers. How does one get the piece serviced without having your name on the papers? If I go to the same AD (who don't know me) to get it sized, is that going to be an issue? At the end of the day, I'd love to go the AD route, but not if it's going to be a Rolex Daytona-esque runaround with a mythical list and waiting time while I build up my status buying other watches I only half want. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.
A lot of hard to find Patek's popping up at ADs?
Hello,As a recent buyer of a 5167A, I am seeing that a lot of folks on here are finding that watch as well as 5711 at their local dealers unexpectedly. I am 4 for 4 the last 3 months walking into Patek ADs and finding both 5167s and 5164s in stock. One AD had a theory that with China and other Asian markets down so much and Patek being highly concerned about grey market watches they bought back the inventory and shipped a lot of it to ADs in the USA. Anyone else have any thoughts? Thanks!
Who say Rolex is not colorful?
Not me.
Saw this watch in the wild today
My wife has a good friend who has mentioned to me that her father is into watches. Today I got the chance to meet and talk with him at his granddaughter's birthday party (his granddaughter is the same age and friends with my son). Here's the watch he was wearing today. I'm relatively new to watches as a hobby (within the last couple of years), so this is by far the nicest one I've seen in person. It was truly beautiful.
