Mir Watches Hands-On
Simple is harder to achieve in design. When something lacks bells and whistles it is more vulnerable, easier to pick apart and scrutinize. As such, it is a risk for a brand to pursue something simple and clean. But, when simplicity is achieved, there is an unmistakable beauty that comes along with it. This leads me to the actual topic of this article, a relatively new brand of watches from Sweden, called Mir.?Mir didn't set out to do something terribly new or innovative, they didn't use fancy materials or shocking colors, they just made a pure expression of a 3-hand watch that lacks pretention. With a dial design that is sparse, but well balanced, a calf-leather strap that is refined, but basic and hands that add just the slightest bit of contrast, the Mir watches are more about style than substance. One look at their very well directed photography will confirm this. They set out to make a watch that can be worn by anyone and in any situation, and I think stylistically, they succeed
Trulli Edition
Another AP i tried on the other dayCarbon case with the Ceramet bezel and a crystal case back.Cool piece but still not in love with the index markers.
5164 in the pool?
I get weird about having pushers that don't screw down in any water. Any 5164 owners swim with theirs yet? I don't know if I ever will....I know Patek says it's water resistant...but the design of the pushers, I fear, may lead to me hitting one of them while it's under the water with my forearm....The only watch with pushers I've worn under water is a daytona...with them screwed tightly down. Thoughts? Any 5980 owners can chime in as well....Thanks.
rolex 114270 "swiss made" label width
I've explorer 114270 serial v.Searching in google i find other 114270, but none with same label width swiss made on dial at 6. In attach you can see two great images of my 114270 and one small that is other 114270: the label width swiss made on dial at 6 is different. Can someone explain why my label is different from all other ?Is possible to post a question (this or another) direct to Rolex ?Thanks
Oysterflex on 16710 Pepsi GMT - In Case you were wondering
Had an exciting day with my AP 15400 returning from APSC with a new crystal and full service. Not sure exactly what that has to do with me playing around with the oyster flex lol! But I think having the Royal Oak back got me on a bracelet kick.Since I wear my SS Daytona most often I decided to take the jubilee off the 16710 put it on the Daytona, which left me with a lonely Oysterflex Strap. So for now it will live on the GMT. I was quite surprised at how much I like the look and feel of this combo!Enjoy!
