Bring a Loupe: A Rare Speedmaster 'Ed White,' A Gorgeous Heuer Carrera, An Underestimated Ro
This week, Bring A Loupe covers some iconic vintage pieces, but also some others flying more under the radar. Among the obvious choices, you can find an early Speedmaster, a great Heuer Carrera, and a promising Universal Geneve Polerouter Sub. There are also some watches that you probably expected less, including a quartz-powered Rolex and a Movado Datron relying on the mythical El Primero movement. This is your Bring A Loupe for February 5, 2016. An Omega Speedmaster 'Ed White' Reference 105.003-64, And Why It Matters 1 OF 12 Let's start with the reason behind this Speedy's nickname: the astronaut Ed White actually wore a reference 105.003 during the Gemini IV mission when he became the first American to space-walk, in June 1965. Incoming 5140p
I finally found a Like New example of the 5140p-001 (blue dial). I looked for one for about 7 months, and I recently saw a very imperfect example in person. I passed. Having never bought a pre-loved watch before, I needed it as close to perfect as possible. I found it. This must have sat in a safe for most of its life. I am over the moon. I feel very fortunate. I've wanted a platinum Patek and I love the 240 movement. I am done...for a long time! Thanks for looking!
Which ladies Patek?
Does anyone have any recommendations on which PP to get the wife?I am leaning toward a 4936J which I think is a good choice but wanted to ask the group here.Thanks.
