Which speed master to get?
Hi allI'm considering getting a speed masterI have a Rolex currently which I will keep and have been eyeing up the speed master for some time now. I like the clear caseback and the whole idea and history of the moon watch holds appeal also. The traditional simple iconic look I think is great. I'm open to used. Any thoughts as to which model I should be steering towards? In some ways I don't want to go with the new models due to the subtle changes that have gone on over time. Any buyers on here I might go to?All help much appreciatedThanksSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Speedy Pro is definitely a poor man's Rolex
Me and my Speedypro visit my AD after the manager calls me in with promises of free coffee, blackjacks and a try of the fresh slate dialled 116509.I'm checking the display while the AD returns from his lunch break. The new salesperson (I'm not stating male or female) gives me the poorman's Daytona routine and I politely challenge the statement, asking for elaboration. The person falls to pieces, no explanation just silence.Boss comes in, I say nothing about the little incident, try on the Daytona (very nice but far too much coin for my liking), eat all his flapjacks and try, unsuccessfully, to catch the eye of the salesmen as I talk watches with the AD for half an hour of so. I'm thinking of giving a Daytona's a poor man's Patek jape to embarass the salesperson but I'd probably come out of it badly so it's not going to happen.I leave with my wallet intact, belly full and poorman's Daytona on my wrist.Everyone should have a Speedypro, poor or not.aug09-speedy1.jpgI've got two, double poor
Speedmaster reserve power
I recently acquired a used Speedmaster triple date 3523.80. It's about nine years old. I'm not concerned about its authenticity, but was curious about its reserve power. The specs on this say 44 hours. I wound it up manually and let it sit undisturbed until it ran out. It lasted just over 52 hours. Is this an anomaly or do others have similar experiences with their Omegas?
77200 bracelet link question
Is the last full size oyster link that connected to the one with an easy link should be hollowed at the middle link or should it be solid ? I just get the watch back from RSC and just noticed.
