RO Chrono - silver/white or blue - SS
I'm having a bit of a crisis, hoping for some advice.I posted previously about wanting to buy a ROC in the UK. I went round all the stockists in London this week and there no SS versions in stock anywhere. I was also told getting hold of a blue one is 'impossible' as they are boutique only and there is no boutique in the UK. Obviously this is via the AD route. I found a BNIB silver/white version for a good price (considering the price rise that has just occurred) from another source (a physical shop where I tried it on) and have paid a deposit, intending to complete the purchases tomorrow.I have been looking online this morning though and keep thinking I should hold out for a blue one, even though I haven't seen one in the metal. I've looked on Chrono24 and there are a couple of blue ones in Europe which I believe means I don't have to pay any customs charges. I can't see any BNIB from TRF sellers in the UK/Europe and am concerned about buying from the US due to the charges that will b
AP ROO owners, talk to me.
For the longest time, I've been a conservative watch brand guy, but over the past couple months, the AP ROO line has started to grow on me.My questions are1) in what dress do you find yourself wearing them? My watch guy claims that once you own one, you find yourself wearing it all kinds of different situations.2) how often do you find yourself wearing it?(removed pics of watch I'm looking at, didn't mean to distract members, I'm looking more for experience on how you guys wear your APs, not so much a pickem thread.)
Due 674 at discounted price
My local AD has an one owner unworn 674 for sale for 6900, will you consider buying it? Need advice.
Purchased my first Rolex
I've been a watch aficionado for years and started collecting them seriously about 10 years ago. I had a limited budget, so the richest thing I had in my collection was a 1966 Speedmaster Pro 105.012, which I've loved for years as my favorite watch. When I bought my Speedy it was still within my budget, but a bit of a stretch, at a whopping $2500. Now that it has appreciated in value 3-4x what I paid, I decided to pass it along to the next person who will value it. And I figured it would be a momentous occasion to use the proceeds for my first Rolex! So, I purchased a Datejust 36mm silver, stick dial from Alan Furman Jewelers and it just showed up today. While I'll miss the Speedy, and know it will be worth far more in the future than my new Rolex, I'm happy to have owned it and am satisfied it will bring some other collector some joy.And I'm so excited to own my first new Rolex!
