Defakto Akkord Modular Review
Defakto watches is one of the few brands out there that can scratch our itch for a minimal, design focused watch. In the last few years, we've reviewed their Eins, a mechanical one-hander and the Detail a quartz one-hander, both of which were unique and enjoyable. Their focus on minimal dials, stark colors and bold shapes gives them an appeal not often found in the realm of sports watches, while their manufacturing gives them a quality not often found in "design" watches.Today we'll be taking a look at the Akkord Modular model. The Akkord has been out for a couple of years, and was the brand's first departure from one-handers into the world of precise minutes. It stayed true to the brand's aesthetic, but adds some needed functionality. This year, they updated the line with their "Modular" color ways, which mix steel/PVD or bronze/PVD elements for uniquely beautiful cases. 15202 light ?
Does it feel very light on the wrist after wearing 15202 steel ? I was offered 15400 Blue but refused because I thought it was too big. Now I am thinking was my decision right ?
Some vintage beauties at Breitlings NY boutique!
Glad Breitling is finally looking at its roots for inspiration, I would love a rerun of some of those.hodinkee/blog/tour-br...-city-boutique
Inevitability has arrived...
...brand new and sealed. After reading some of bad AD experiences of sizing the bracelet, I didn't want to risk it. So I took it to the HK Patek service centre and had it sized there. They had a nice set up where you can see into the service centre. Here they are sizing my bracelet. This is my first Patek. Whether it will be my one and only is still TBD. For now just enjoying the new toy; and happy to be apart of the club.
Help me pick a Rolex for a casual, tech environment!
Hi all,I recently received an offer to join a technology company as a strategy manager. With this comes a signing bonus which I'd like to dedicate in part to purchasing my first Rolex.I'm in my mid-20s and looking for something that isn't too ostentatious or in-your-face, but suitable in a casual type environment. Initially, I've been thinking towards the Z Blue Milgauss or a DJ II / DJ 41 in blue with smooth bezel. Here's my current collection (I like to keep it small, so I may sell depending on what I pick up)- Tudor BB Black ETA version - Speedy Pro- JLC Reverso Grande Ultra Thin Duoface- NOMOs Tangente GangreserveThanks!!
