Here is a rare watch from favorite German luxury watch maker A. Lange & Sohne. If you can take yourself back to the bubble building times of the year 2000, you'll recall just how sexy the idea of a tourbillon watch was. This was before a "mere tourbillon" was not enough, and when the complication was gaining steam as the haute mechanical wonder to wear. At this time most consumers still had no idea what the odd, but cool looking complication was. Later most consumers finally learned that the complication was in fact cool to look at, but of questionable value from utilitarian perspective. But who cares really, you don't get a $100,000 watch for utilitarian purposes.2000 to 2003 saw the production of this mini-era defining watch. It took the Lange 1 watch design that really brought A. 5980 Black or Blue?
I think the blue dial is infinitely more interesting and beautiful than the black dial, but I'm convinced the black dial will match just about everything I wear. The blue dial seems like it will really pop with the right clothes but clash more with the wrong outfit. I'm looking for thoughts on this to help me decide which dial for an every day and only sport watch. I searched the topic expecting to find thirty or so threads like on the Rolex Forum (daily white or black dial Daytona/Explorer II ;)) but can it be I'm the first to ask or care? (doubts it). Hidden factors in picking the right Rolex.
Closing in on my first Rolex and I've not really narrowed down which reference I really want, if anything the references under consideration only keep growing!I know from some of my other interests (cars, clothing, even cookware) that sometimes what you THINK you want isn't actually the one that will give you the most satisfaction. So my question is: are there things in your life that you should consider that will impact the kind of Rolex you might like? For example I work a lot in offices, I'm a creative person, I dress with some flair but pretty casually -- does that perhaps mean I should consider X Rolex rather than Y? What are some factors that you hadn't considered that ultimately did affect your satisfaction?And just so you know, I'm actually kind of enjoying not being able to pick a Rolex. So many to choose from!!

Bracelet swap out (Daytona 116520)
Recently I acquired a Daytona 116520. Due to the type of work I do and the fact I wear casual attire, I would like to swap out the polished center link bracelet with a brushed bracelet. I put my GMT II (BLNR) on a 78790 because I had one from my Explorer II, and absolutely love the way it looks/feels. I am wondering if there is a model of brushed bracelet that would lend well to the Daytona.
