Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Eight Days Perpetual 16124SQ Watch Available On James List
Back in 2007 Jaeger-LeCoultre released this Master Eight Days Perpetual calendar? (ref. 16124SQ) watch - and it still looks beautiful today. With an original price of about $100,000 , there are (relative) deals to be found today. The skeletonized black 'frosted' movement is amazing to look at, but you'll have to forgive the design for making you hunt a bit for all the information that you have available on the dial. The movement color is actually due to ruthenium, and there are transparent discs all over the dial.Set in a 41mm wide 18k pink gold "Master" collection case, the watch nicely mixes classic Jaeger-LeCoultre aesthetic with the visual interest of a modern style skeletonized movement. Legibility is maintained through use of gold hands and hour markers that contrast with the gray other elements which are great. Jaeger-LeCoultre knows that people wearing the watch will be primarily interested in the time, and rely on the other information less. I do feel that the design of the di
Giveaway: LUM-TEC B15 Chronograph Watch
LUM-TEC lovers rejoice, this month you have a chance to win one of LUM-TEC's very popular Combat B series watches. This is the limited edition B15 Chronograph, with a 43mm wide bead-blasted steel case and a real carbon fiber dial. A pilot watch at heart, it comes with a sturdy NATO style strap, and a very easy to read dial. LUM-TEC of course gives the watch their famous MDV luminant that works very well I must say. Visibility is further enhanced by anti-reflective (AR) coating on both sides of the sapphire crystal.Inside the watch is a Miyota OS20 quartz chronograph movement. It has a 60 minute counter, synchronized 24 hour hand, subsidiary seconds dial, and the date. The B 15 is part of a very limited production of just 100 pieces, and has a retail price of $565. But you can get a free B15 by entering for a chance to win below. To Enter You Must: 1. Comment on this post below with your valid e-mail address where required. Watches, Art and Cars
I had an enjoyable couple of hours on Saturday, visiting the AP Lounge at Art Basel Hong Kong, viewing some fabulous pieces at this enormous event and then briefly dropping by the Automall to view some of the great cars they have on offer. I made full use of being out without the kids! All in all, it was a fun afternoon. The AP lounge had a collection of ROOs through the years - unfortunately the contrast was too much for my iPhone s little sensor, so I couldn't get any useable photos. There were also a number of the new ROOs on display - the LE tourbillons look much better in real life than in photos. They are amazingly three-dimensional. I'm no fonder of the ROO Combat, now that I have seen it. The ROO 25 (the reissued Beast) has a far more luminous dial than the original - particularly with 25 yrs of patina - and I actually liked it much less than the museum pieces I've seen of this reference. This was the perfect opportunity to give my 15400or some wrist time. Not from Art Basel,
