My impressions with some Omega Basel 2017 Pieces
Last night I attended an event hosted by Omega at a boutique. I have to be honest....it blew the socks off the Rolex event I went to. It was really all about the people there....true enthusiasts of the brand along with some very very interesting guests (how about the guy who is the son of the man who invented the official NASA certified Fisher space pen that the astronauts used, and still produced/used today, talk about an honor to talk to these guys). The food and drinks were a cut above the Rolex event as well and the people there pampered the heck out of my entire family (wife and kids), kudos to Omega on knowing how to throw a party......I also got to talk to some people in real life finally that I've been buddies with on forums so that was fun....and they brought some spectacular rare/vintage pieces as well. Thinking Patek 5726 or 5711r. Push me one direction.
I've got a decent collection of Rolex's and now I've gotten the Patek bug. I know the 5711 in stainless ain't happening so I've narrowed it down to the 5711r or 5726 both on bracelet. I'm kinda torn because I want an annual calendar/moon phase (hence why I'm looking outside rolex) but also eventually wanted something rose gold in my collection. Prices seem to be all over the place, I don't plan to resell, but if I buy from a trusted seller which one would I likely lose less on down the road? Or should I get on a wait list at an AD. I know the rolex game but Patek is new to me, your input is appreciated. Trade advice needed
The iconic Lange Datograph is within my reach but I have to trade in my mint 5110P plus 10k cash. The Dato is in mint condition but 7+ years old and has not been serviced. My 5110P has been serviced by Patek 3 years ago. Thoughts?
