WATCH WHAT-IF: Tudor Black Bay
Watch What-If - the watches-dealer series where we invite guest designers to imagine existing watches in new ways - is back with a look at the Tudor Black Bay. Watch enthusiast and artist Synaptyx takes a look at this modern "classic" from Tudor that interprets the brand's design heritage in a way that has captivated so many of today's watch lovers. watches-dealer reviewed the Tudor Black Bay watch here. Here are some words from Synaptyx on his designs:Recently, there has been a big push in Superhero movies, and there are tie-ins in every market. I thought why not a versatile Tudor watch for Superheroes, Super-villains, and Super-spies. This line of thinking lead me to the drawing board and back to the Tudor Black Bay that I wanted to see, but with a twist. Here is a snowflake-dialed Tudor Black Bay in some super-character driven iterations.Above, to our Super-spy, James Bond. What modern day Tudor could he get the most use out of? A GMT version seems like a good fit, with all that tra
AP 44 ROO 26405CE vs. PP 5168G
I know these are 2 different watches, but given the somewhat similar price points, roughly $34K on the AP vs. $38K on the PP, which would you go for?I guess I'm looking for a piece with rubber strap to get ready for warmer weather and casual wear on weekends.I have tried on the AP 26405 CE 44 Chrono recently and it was pretty sweet in the flesh. I am first on the list for the 5168G at my AD with no firm commitment to purchse yet since I need to see how the 42mm size fits.I'll be posting this on the AP forum as well to get a fair assessment.
Finally Got A Cockpit
I've wanted a Cockpit since I first saw a picture of one. I had a chance to pick one up recently and couldn't pass it up. I think this is my favorite time piece I've owned. The dual date wheel really sets this model apart from the rest and snaps into place right at midnight. My lighting wasn't great but here are a few quick shots of it. The pics don't do the detail of the dial any justice.
I was on my final approach, but then...
I was on my final approach to my DSOTM purchase, but then I saw the Pitch Black version and it has me second-guessing myself. The less glossy appearance and the fully lumed bezel really make it a competitor against the original DSOTM. I tried them both on yesterday and still can't decide which I like better. I think I still prefer the original. Anyway, do any of you guys have the Pitch Black and have any wrist shots you can share? It would be cool to see it in real life action. Thanks!
Hello, newish member - Bay Area AD experience & guidance
Hi everyone,I hope this message finds you all well. I wanted to hear from people that live in the SF Bay Area there experience at their local ADs. Which stores should I go to? I have no issues driving around so as long as I find a seller that is going to work with me, educate me, and not look down at me because I wear a Citizen or Seiko. A little backstory:My reason for wanting a Rolex is due to my father. In Taiwan, he was a successful police chief my father and mother sacrificed their lifestyle and immigrated to the US primary for my brother and I so that we could have the best education possible. As a child, I remember him wearing a stainless steel Datejust. Unfortunately, my father developed a brain tumor when I was in elementary school and since has been living his life in a wheelchair. He is an amazing father who does not see his disabilities and often he's sad that he could not contribute more to the family. How does this have anything to do with my dad's Rolex? Well, when I inq
