5 Things You Should Know About the Audemars Piguet LeBron James Royal Oak Offshore
With the NBA playoffs in full swing, and LeBron James’s Cleveland Cavaliers moving on to the second round, we re-present our feature on the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore LeBron James limited edition, launched in fall 2013, which had the design input of James himself. Here are five things to know about the timepiece. 1. It’s not what one usually expects in a star athlete-branded sports watch. “King James’s” Audemars Piguet is not predominantly black; it does not display his current team’s colors or his jersey number; it has no obvious references to his sport (i.e., the baseball counterweight on the seconds hand of Randy Johnson’s Ulysse Nardin or the basketball pattern on James’s teammate Dwyane Wade’s Hublot); and it’s not even overly large (the case is a relatively modest 44 mm in diameter). The color scheme choice of light gray (in certain light, it appears almost off-white) for the dial and alligator strap, combin
RSW Nazca Sport Limited Edition Watches
I love how a design like that of the RSW (Rama Swiss Watch) Nazca is bound to be so polarizing. I think that RSW themselves gets a kick out of that. I mean, from a purely business-oriented motive you'd want to make timepieces that appealed to more people, not less people right? Yet despite this RSW continues to tread forth in the design of timepieces that appeal to just some people, but certainly not all people. So what about you? What are you feelings on the Nazca collection? The courage (or "audacity" as Europeans in their infinite defiance of how Americans use words call it) that RSW has actually does impress me. They are among a minority of watch brands that actually do take design risks (even though all claim to). And does this risky behavior pay off for RSW? I am not sure. Unfortunately not many of their timepieces make it to the US. But that goes for a lot of really good watches out there. For me the design gambling at RSW pays off because I always give their new watches very clos

New Speedmaster Legend
Well, I was torn between the 16610lv/deep sea, and my 1 year+ desire to get a Speedmaster Legend. I think I was ready to pull the trigger on the 16610lv, but I wanted to look at the Speedmaster one last time.Well, I walked into the AD and they had the Speedmaster Legend. I tried it on, and it felt great but didn't have the weight and heft of the Deep Sea. I liked the quality, but the movement was really what was the most impressive. Seeing the stop watch going at the same time as the second hand reminded me off seeing the Tach and Speedometer in my 993. It was a done deal. As an added bonus, being a backyard racer, I liked the roots of this watch. The price they gave me on this watch which I have coveted for over a year was WAY too good to pass up. I pulled the trigger. This should hold me over.......until I convince the wife that my fledgling collection is a little light and incomplete without a deep sea.
