Piaget Altiplano Automatic 43mm Ultra-Thin Watch
Many people dream of really thin mechanical watches. I've even had people tell me how awesome it would be to have this ultra wafer-thin watches. For me the idea wasn't super appealing in theory, and then I finally got to experience some ultra thin mechanical watches and the desire turned on like a light a switch. Most thin mechanical watches are manually wound, which sort of defeats the point for me - as what I really want are automatic watches.Piaget has always been a "thin is in brand" stressing broad watch cases that barely lift of your wrists. They have been doing this for decades, especially appealing since they are a "real" watch maker that creates their own movements. So here I am at SIHH 2010 in Switzerland (when writing this article) checking out the new Piaget Altiplano Automatic Ultra-Thin watch that I've know about for a while and I am really moved by it. One of the best parts of the ludicrously thin 5.25mm watch is that it has a sapphire exhibition caseback with a view int

Some 3940R love...
Love this classic little dress watch. A grand complication no less.Photos are similar, but enjoy them nevertheless.Edit: Right click on these images and open them up in a new browser window (or tab) to see the full size versions in higher quality....This one taken in the sunlight. I like how the rg reflects and seems to glow...
GMT vs. DJ41
I have a pretty good choice to have to make here and I would like your opinion on making it. My friends are no good at helping me make this call so I'm hoping you guys can be a bit more helpful! If I were to get a GMT I would certainly wait until after Basel because it would absolutely drain me if what they came out was something I like more than what's out right now. But if I had to go out and buy a GMT today, it would be the straight black. Like everyone else I am hoping they announce every color combination we have hypothesized about. But I would love the functionality of the two time zones. Maybe the TT but we can return to that argument in a minute. In the world of DJ I would get a 41, black, diamonds, TT, jubilee. I know most aren't a big fan of the diamonds but I think they're amazing! Now, contrasting with the GMT these are really different watches but I like the flash of the proposed DJ. Now these get in the price range where we need to think about saving up for a DD instead. B
Time to change
In January they will be 5 years old that I have my Sub. 116610. It's time to look for new horizons. The ideal would be a Daytona 116500. Will there be much difference? The two models are in shortage. What do you think?Another thing, I'm seeing that many sellers are offering watches on Facebook. I never thought that this was a place for that. I do not encourage myself to to sell or exchange in that way. What do you think?
