Pulled the trigger
Well, after much debate and going back and forth , i finally pulled the trigger on an AP. I worked with Chris over at EJC and he really took care of me. Glad I can now call myself an Audemars owner
So I get my new (to me) watch back...
I acquired a Seamaster 120 automatic about a month or so ago. I found it on the timezone forums for a terrific price and couldn't pass it up for a full box and papers watch. The watch was gently worn for about a year and then put in a drawer for the last ten or so years. I had it about three weeks and knew it needed a service (i knew when i bought it it needed servicing). I took it to my local watchmaker who did a full internal servicing for $125. I go and pick it up today and I was less than thrilled. When he serviced my DJ last year, I found dust under he crystal. He took care of it at the point I brought it back to him. I get handed my new beauty today and it looks good inside. I pay and leave. As soon as i walk outside, I immediately notice TWO specks of dust on the dial and hands. Maybe I am super critical... maybe I was just hoping for a different outcome than last time... I decided not to bring it back to him to fix. I feel that a servicing for $125 is still a good price even if

Do you find your taste in watches changing after buying a Patek?
After owning and wearing a beautiful 5712 for a while, I love the understated beauty that it offers.People can tell a Rolex from a very far distance, and most people that want a one and only, especially out in the NON-wis world, would buy a Rolex. This is why they can still spot your watch.A Patek however is understated, and invisible to most, unless they are in the know. I find this simply amazing. My watch is become an even more personal thing now. I don't care if others notice it, as long as I know what is on my wrist. And I will be lying if I said it was this way in the past.I had plans to add a full gold Rolex day-date or equivalent. After trying my friend's on, I really can't stand the bling factor on it anymore.I am actually drawn more towards a Calatrava, or a complicated dress watch in WG. I love the beauty in the understated Pateks.Did not see this happening.
How does the titanium Pelagos hold up?
I saw a one year old Pelagos for sale recently on the forum and the bracelet and clasp looked like crap. Tons of scratches and it just looked much worse for wear than my 7-year-old Sub.Does titanium (and the Pelagos) get scratches and abrasions much easier than the 904L of Rolexes?
