Breitling’s New Wave Superocean
After conquering the skies, in 1957 Breitling set course for the sea with the launch of the original Superocean, equipped with a highly readable dial, armored glass, and a monohull case watertight to 200 meters or 660 feet – quite a feat for the time. Originally designed for professional and military divers, the watch soon developed a following among enthusiasts and leisure divers. At Baselworld, Breitling launched the latest Superocean with an entirely new design. The 42mm stainless steel case is water resistant to 1500 meters or 5000 feet. Dive-specific features include a screw lock crown, helium escape valve, unidirectional rubber-molded ratcheted bezel, and a thick, cambered sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Oversized numbers, hour markers and hands with Superluminova assure excellent legibility even in low light. The movement is Breitling Caliber 17 with date display at 3 o’clock. Breitling Emergency Battery Change
I have a Breitling Emergency and realized recently that the battery needs to be changed. Can anyone give me an idea of the cost and how long it will take to get it back? Also, has anyone had this done by someone other than Breitling? Thanks in advance.
Gray Mkt
I'm still new so I apologize if there is a thread on this already....I was at an AD yesterday and the salesperson was basically telling me that, without me having a prior relationship with an AD, it was near impossible to get a Sea Dweller anytime in the next year or two. I mentioned to her that it seems I have no choice but to go to the gray mkt. She informed me to be careful, b/c she's had atleast two preferred clients that purchased from non-AD's and when they sent their watches to Rolex for service, Rolex said the watch had been stolen and sent back to the original buyer. Has anyone heard of this before? If so, how is it possible to get comfortable buying from the gray mkt unless the person you're buying from is the original owner?
GMT II with 3186 vs 3185
Hi Quick questions came to mind as I was reading another post regarding the New High of the 3186. I don't get it, but it is what it is.https://.rolexforums/showthread.php?t=5906191. Do the Rolex movements have serial numbers/codes/markings on them?2. What's to stop an unscrupulous person with a late Z or early M series 16710 with a 3185 and swap it out with a 3186 from a 116710?Thanks
