The Cartier road show is coming to a city near you. Can you spot some of your favorite Cartier manufacture movements?? There is a glut of tourbillon watches, and my favorite, the Cartier Astrotourbillon. Can you name them all?You won't have to in order to check them out. Review: Techn GosHawk (Ref. 411)
Previously on worn&wound we've discussed those watches or watch brands that manage to achieve superb design and quality in a surprisingly / unbelievably affordable price point.? Think Steinhart with their $400, ETA powered pieces, or the $200 Maratac Pilot with a quality automatic and sapphire crystal the size of your head. ?Having spent some time with the $338?Techn GosHawk (and previously Sparrowhawk) I am beginning to think that Techn deserves a place in that conversation.?The GosHawk pairs unique aviator styling and excellent craftsmanship with a quality Japanese automatic movement and superior components.Case: Bead Blasted Stainless SteelMovement: Miyota 8217 AutomaticDial: BlackLume: C3Lens: Sapphire with AR coatingStrap: “Saddle” Oiled LeatherWater Res.: 50mDimensions: 41.4mm x 48.7mmThickness: 12.5mmLug Width: 20mmCrown: Screw downWarranty: 1 YearCaseThe case of the GosHawk is simple and clean, matching an aesthetic seen throughout the watch. Introducing: The IWC Big Pilot's Heritage 55 And 48 Limited Editions
It has been widely rumored that 2016 will be the year of the pilot's watch at IWC, and it turns out the rumors were true. The full lineup's not going live just yet (though once the SIHH starts, of course, everything's going to be revealed). However, IWC has shared a couple of new limited editions of their Big Pilot's Watch. They're behemoths, in the Big Pilot's Watch tradition, but they're also faithful in many respects to the history of the navigator's watches from the 1940s on which they're based. Let's take a look. 1 OF 5 The IWC Big Pilot's Heritage Watch 55 reference IW510401. Let's start with the big boy. This is the Heritage Watch 55; it's a 55 mm watch, which according to IWC was the diameter of the original 52 caliber TSC (Tirette Seconde Centrale) made for the German Air Force in 1940. Exactly 1,000 of the original watches were made, according to the lot notes from Christie's that accompanied the sale
Just got my first Omega
After all these years, I just got my first Omega I've been searching for the 45th anniversary moon watch for a while ever since I saw one at an AD.. and finally pull the trigger. (Thanks Henry Erlich, aka HankE from TZ)Its used, but LNIBthe pics below shows it with leather strap rather than the oem Nato (which I also have)This watch is absolutely gorgeous. (Especially the way the light reflects off the hour markers and the way the dial changes color in a subtle way.) Its hard to capture the beauty in pics.-Compared to my Rolexes, its light (titanium). -Its also lacking the date, but I will get used to it. -I also have to get in the habit of winding this daily since its not automatic.-The lume is better than my DJII, particularly the hour & minute hand lume.
New Old Stock-Advice
Hey All,I need some advice on what to offer(trying not to pay full retail) on a NOS Omega Seamaster-300M-wavy dial-.....co-axil.Let me set the story:Yesterday my wife and I went shopping and we went into a jewelry store just to look. My wife bought me a new Rolex GMT-II Black and Blue, so I wasn't in any hurry for another watch....yet.I came across the store's Omega display and in the 300-M/Diver section of their Omega display they had the newer Diver's in one area and three NOS Omega 300-M in the lower section.1. A women's quartz blue-wavy dial...I didn't ask about it.2. A Men's 300-M (I think black dial) wavy dial chronograph...(co-axil?) $4900 for the chronograph3. A men's 300-M black wavy dial, co-axil...(the lady told me co-axil but not master co-axil).........$3900.All brand new. As a matter of fact I know these three watches have been setting there since June-2014. June-2014, was the last time I was in that particular store and they were in there then.I know Omega qui
