Watches NEWS
I Didn't Mean To
I just went in to look as a courtesy. Truly. I love the idea of a moon phase watch. I mean, it's just a super cool complication. But I'm gravitating towards smaller watches lately. That's not to say I don't admire larger size watches. I do. I just seem to be wearing my 39 or 40 mm watches. And all the reviews I've read state that this watch is BIG. I knew I was not going to like it. I was wrong. And it really doesn't feel big. In fact, on leather, it's downright butter on the wrist. Crazy comfortable. The looks just blew me away as I find it extremely attractive. i think it's the smallish lugs that make it wear smaller than it is. I wore it to sleep last night and I barely felt it on. And the lume was surprisingly strong for my nightly 2:00 ritual. Its definitely very thick, but I don't seem to notice that either. I'm 99% of the time with my sleeves rolled up anyway, so it's not a huge issue. Regardless of it all, and the fact that I continuously surprise myself with my ever evolving p
Speedmaster "First Omega in space"
Omega is releasing a numbered edition replica of the first Omega worn in space. Its a bit smaller than the moon watch, the hands and lugs are different and it comes on a strap. Priced at CHF 4750. I gotta say I like it. What is your take on it?Read more here: .fratellowatches/omega...in-space-1962/
Air King - Glad this made it to my collection
While I have heard of this Rolex model before, I have always thought it to be the earlier versions 34mm. And so when I was offered one, I decided to pass on. But the curiosity side of me said that I should check this watch, and there only did I realize that it was a different Air King version after all that escaped my notice because of probably the Daytona mania of Baselworld 2016.Fast forward today, I'm glad to be able to finally land this piece. To be honest, I just can't resist the quirkiness of this watch. Yellow, Green, White, Black seldom do you see this mix of color on a Rolex. More so, the busy dial with lots of numerals in different fonts - applied and printed, white gold and just plain white, luminosity and non-luminosity, a Milgauss-like case and anti-magnetic properties with the Explorer 1 indices at 3-6-9 and Mercedes hands, with a combo of Milgauss/Explorer 1 bracelet... indeed lots of things going on with this watch. No wonder this watch can attract strong reaction
Basel - 126610LN and 126660 prediction
Prediction, this year change with the 3-day movement for sub and deepsea to 126610 and 126660. But the outlooks will remain the same.Sure the price of both will go up for around 15%+ so that sub, sd, and ds prices will have an even difference between each others. The same logic apply to sub no date to 124060.Thoughts?
Leather Straps for Rolex Clasp?
Does anyone have any experience with a company that could make leather straps for the Rolex clasp?Something similar to RubberB in terms of concept?Obviously leather would have to be custom made because you can't simply trim it like you can with rubber.I'd like a custom leather strap that would fit into the Datejust 41 clasp.Don't get me wrong, I love just about every Rolex bracelet, but I think the DJ can look nice on a strap and would definitely get something custom to try out.I don't know if it's worth the hassle because any regular strap and buckle can work, but something custom while using the clasp would be ideal.
