my Planet Ocean Liquidmetal LE:When it arrived in May of last year, I let my 2254.50 Seamaster go as I could not justify owning two black divers.Then earlier this year, I gave into temptation and picked up my grail Rolex diver, an M series Sea-Dweller. Since its arrival, the PO and SD have fought for wrist time and on several occasions I have come close to parting company with the PO.But the time has finally arrived when I have to make room on the winder for a special piece so the SD will be leaving for the left coast tomorrow.Admittedly, I am sad to see it go but I have been looking forward to the new incoming for some time. Passed up a 5164 today... should I have?
I was passing my AD today and so thought I'd pop in for a coffee and a chat..He brought out 2 pieces to show me.. one was a 5711 blue dial which I've never tried on before - Not avail to buy but he also brought out a steel 5164 which was for sale.. we chatted about it and I was tempted but in the end when side by side with my 5167r I decided either it wasn't the right next Patek for me or at least not today..Was I right?Deal was List priceI think had it been a piece that was going up by 20% then it would def have been more likely going home with me.. but as it was I just felt that it didn't sing to me in the way my RG one did... New member needs advise - Daytona
Hi all, I am new to the forum and i have been reading a lot of your great advises. That helped a lot on my journey deciding for my first rolex model: Daytona. I adore the Daytona, i feel in love with it after seeing the TT black MOP with diamonds, but now i have also seen the rose gold and find it very hard to decide. Which one do you like? which of the 2 do you think will hold the value best? I will hopefully never want to sell it, but who knows. My first Rolex will be bought in a Rolex store. hope you can help :)
