Close-Up: The New Bremont America’s Cup Collection
British watch brand Bremont which already this year began a partnership with Jaguar cars and had prominent placement in the big-budget spy thriller Kingsman has pulled off perhaps its biggest coup yet, announcing last week that it has been appointed as Official Timing Partner to both the 35th America’s Cup and the defending Cup champion, the Oracle Team USA. As with the Jaguar and Kingsman partnerships, the brand, founded by siblings Nick and Giles English, has also introduced an all-new collection of Bremont watches to commemorate the milestone. Here’s what you should know about them (the watches, not the English brothers, though they are also very interesting)…The Bremont America’s Cup collection is made up of two new watches, a simple three-hand-with-date and a bicompax chronograph. Both have 43-mm cases (constructed in Bremont’s signature “Trip-Tick” style) with chronometer-rated movements and maritime-inspired blued steel hands over iv
SIHH: Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Duo
Jaeger-LeCoultre created the first Reverso Duo in 1994 when they replaced the Reverso's shield with a second time display. A single movement powered both sets of hands in opposite directions, with each display being independently adjustable. With this stroke, JLC reinvented the GMT watch. The new Grande Reverso Duo is distinguished by its generous dimensions and by a dial design that has been entirely rethought to provide enhanced aesthetics and greater readability. The travel time zone is adjustable via the crown and located on the front side. In order to maintain the precision of the minutes and seconds, the adjustment is performed in one-hour jumps of the hour hand. To make everything user friendly, the date follows the travelers local time display and can jump both forwards and backwards. The home time display is located on the back. The front shows the small seconds and the date in a central arc of a circle aperture, both clearly readable on the rectangular white dial combining v
Maurice Lacroix Roger Federer Edition Watches
The other two watches inthe collection reflect the different sides of Federer. The Miros Chronograph is sporty and has a crown in the shape ofa tennis ball and a caseback decorated with a tennis ball design and Federer’s signature in red on the back. The thirdwatch, my personal favorite is the Pontos Small Seconds edition. It has the Roger Federer name on the dial and thesignature of the Swiss tennis star on the crystal caseback. It is the most elegant and understated of thethree.
Query abt modding an Omega 'Bond' 300m Seamaster
Hi all,Got this on the 29th of Dec 2011 - an Omega 2531.80.Did not like the bracelet that came with it, and so fitted it out with a Panatime P rubber strap. With the rest of the family...Now I am wondering if I should have the dial replaced with an 'Electric Blue' Omega Seamaster dial? Anyone's done this before? Your comments will be greatly appreciated.TIA!Chye
Question for BLNR owners with brushed center links
For those that ended up brushing the PCLs on the BLNR, where did you get it done? Will an AD do it, or would you need to find a trustworthy local jeweler? Thanks for any help y'all can provide.
