TAG Heuer is slightly troubled of late. Earlier this year, the company debuted its new CH80 in-house chronograph movement at Basel, but just months later, they decided to not only shelf production of the movement, but also to let some 46 employees go. TAG Heuer's new Chevenez facility, which was built in anticipation of the CH80 movement, would also be repurposed to produce other movements. Furthermore,?just recently, its CEO Stephane Linder resigned leaving the legendary Jean-Claude Biver, who is head of watches at LVMH, to assume the position of interim CEO. My One and Only: Datejust II vs Explorer I
As some of you already know, I have been torn over finding my one and only Rolex that I hope to purchase in the next few months. I am looking for versatility in whatever watch I buy. I'm in a suit at least once a week and in jeans/button up shirt the rest of the week. I like the DJII, but I'm not sure if it will dress down too well with shorts and a t shirt. But, I like the silver dial, as opposed to the black. I also like the date function. On the other hand, I'm digging the chromalight lume, brushed bracelet, oysterlock clasp, and WG Arabic numerals on the Exp I. One thing I think I will miss is the date complication if I choose the Explorer. For those of you who may own both, what are your thoughts?
