black themes vs navy 2014
so i owned the black themes for more than a year. loved it... it matches everything and is easy to wear.then this year the navy 2014 came out and i was pretty blown away. blue's my favourite colour and i was coveting the watch for many months. so i decided to trade in my themes and buy it.however... now that i own the navy 2014 i find it clashes with pretty much everything! it's a bit difficult to wear, and i tend to wear business attire about 80% of the time. and looking at it more and more, i'm finding the blue doesn't really go with the orange or rather looks a bit weird with the orange highlights.have not peeled the stickers off yet so now i'm wondering if i should go back and buy the black themes again before it's completely discontinued...yes, i know it's my own fault for not predicting this earlier, but what do you guys think?p.s. went back to the dealer and he flat out refused to sell me back my black themes and take the navy EVEN with a top up. i'm never dealing with him again
Help me see the AP light
I've been away from these forum's for awhile , and only just started getting back into them. This week I picked up patek a/c and sub c lv.I just come back from long holiday where I just took my g shock and when came back I wasnt feeling the AP magic anymore. At moment I have the 15400ST and Bumble Bee .I'm thinking the sub lv takes care of my colourful fetish so do I need the bee anymore as well i not looking at growing my watch collection size wise. Also although not that old I find myself prefering watches witch are no bigger then the 40mm mark and not happy with 41mm size of the 15400 anymore . Apart from the my AP's I only have Pam 233 bigger then 40mm now.I very close to selling off both my AP's and think the only watch that may keep with an AP now is 15202 jumbo. You comments are welcome.thanks
breitling officianados?(excuse spelling)
can someone tell me what model this is,it has a valjoux 7733 and says 332 23 on the case with a serial number of 994030.any help would be greatly appreciated.also some figure or approximation of worth would be helpful as well.cheers, steve
How much did you lose on average?
Not particularly related to Patek...Since I switched from quartz to mechanical watches back in the summer of 2012 (now about 5 years), I have lost about 20 percent of what I invested so far by flipping watches. Which is on average about 4 percent per year.I calculate it as follows: amount spent on mechanical watches minus amount recuperated from selling some of them (ignoring depreciation or appreciation of the watches currently owned but also ignoring inflation or deflation of money).Using this calculation, how much did you lose so far in percentage? Curious to know what people in general lose over a longer period of time (5+ years). Please exclude non-mechanical watches (e.g. Fitbit, Apple Watch, Casio).CheersV.
DD36 overdue upgrade?
Does anyone else share my opinion that the DD36 is long overdue an upgrade? From what I can see it's unchanged since 2005 during which time the DD2 has come and gone, the DD40 has been released (inc ceramic link bracelet and new movement) and all sorts of other models including the Datejust (closest relation to the day-date) are now technically in front of whats supposed to be the brands flagship model. Although I'm quite sure good discounts can be had on dd36's vs other models it has still been subject to all the price rises and a YG 36 is only 10% cheaper on UK list than the equivalent dd40 despite the bigger size and advancements. The only reason I can think of is that there is so much outstanding dd36 stock sitting in shop windows that they have to run it down to the point where they're not creating an issue for themselves to get rid of it/take them back by releasing a new 36mm day-date. Any other ideas?
