A Primer on Mil-Spec Watches
From the beginning of its existence, the watch has been an information tool, giving its wearer some piece of intelligence that he wouldn't have on his own. Perhaps nowhere is that truer or better realized than in the military watch.Almost as long as watches have existed, governments and militaries have been buying and issuing timepieces to be used in nearly every military scenario imaginable. Strictly utilitarian, these watches have served as functional instruments, designed to give their wearers specific and accurate information in environments not often encountered by civilian watches.Marathon Mil-W-46374E, circa 1990Made popular by their simple yet functional design, sturdy construction, and relative scarcity, many military watches have become prized by collectors. The world of military watch collecting is vast, and offers examples at almost every price point, from a $100 infantry field watch to a $100,000 dive watch, and everywhere in between. There really is a milwatch for everyon
Black or Blue SMP chrono and why?
HiIve finally made up my mind, and set on buying the SMP chrono. The purchase will be made tomorrow or after tomorrow, but im confused whether to get the black or blue one. The only reservation i have is that it isnt a coaxial model.Should I get the Planet ocean(non-chrono) instead?
Question about rubber bracelet fit on 5167
I'm really considering getting a 5167. Love the look of this watch. Went down to my local AD and tried on a similar watch (5164) as they didn't have a 5167 in stock. My question is this: How does this rubber strap fit/feel on a smallish wrist ( Maybe 7 inches or so- I take 2 links out of a current Rolex Oyster). I'm concerned about the top part where it comes off the watch. It seemed to bow out wider than my wrist but maybe this was due to the way I had it on and because it was new. It comes with a pretty large bracelet and I had it clasped. Will it form fit better once cut to my specs? Does it loosen up or mold more to the wrist once it's cut and worn? Maybe a silly question but I would love to hear peoples experiences.
Finally got it!
And pics do not do justice to its beauty!!
More Daytona sightings on women....
I think I have seen more Daytona's on womens wrist than men on tv lately. This morning on Good Morning America. Lara Spencer wears a 18k Daytona very well.
