Gucci Launches New Watch for 2013 Grammy Awards
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will take place this weekend in Los Angeles, and for the third year in a row, Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry will release a new, Grammy-branded wristwatch to coincide with the music industry’s biggest night. In 2010, Gucci launched its Grammy Special Edition watch collection as part of a three-year partnership with The Recording Academy, organizers of the Grammys. The latest edition to the collection is a timepiece whose design offers a variation on Gucci’s interlocking “Double G” motif, which is incorporated into the bezel. There are two models, each with stainless-steel cases that measure 42 mm in diameter. One has a sun-brushed finish and a black dial; the other has a black PVD finish and a dark yellow dial. The minimalist dials with the Gucci' logo at 12 o’clock are enlivened by circular-grained surfaces that recall the grooves on a vinyl record. Romain Jerome Rock The Rock DNA For Only Watch 2011
In honor of Monaco, the city that will host the Only Watch 2011 charity watch auction, participating brand Romain Jerome has come up with this special piece unique watch. The dial is a piece of rock based on the stone that Monaco was literally built on - they call it the "Rock the Rock DNA" watch.Based on the DNA style case, the watch has a black ceramic bezel and PVD black case. The dial has longitude and latitude indicators that likely mark the sport of the city (or where the stone was taken). The strap looks to be black alcantara leather. Overall this is actually a really cool looking timepieces. I love the black and tan color with red accents. Only one of these Rock the Rock DNA watches will be made and it will be auctioned off in September at Only Watch 2011.Rock the Rock DNA Tech Specs:Reference: Rock the Rock-DNA unique pieceCaliber: C22RJ51- Mechanical self-winding movementJewelling: 23 jewelsRate Frequency: 28,800 vphPower reserve: 42 hoursDial indication: Central hours and

I am negotiating on one of these. Firstly, what do we think of it as a watch? It's a new piece, but has been sitting around in the dealer's window for some time. Secondly, any thoughts on pricing - at what price is it a no brainer? New price is USD270-ish.Thoughts appreciated.
Visited the Omega boutique today
My regular AD (where I purchase my watches) recently stopped selling Omega and I saw that a new Omega boutique opened recently near it.Today I went in and I was like a kid in a candy store, I WANTED EVERYTHING! It's nice to see pretty much all the models in the same place, on the flip side they only give 5% discounts or so they say.Right across the street there's a jewelry shop that is an Omega AD and trying to get the guy to offer a bigger discount I asked him if he didn't loose to many sales to the other store since they offered much better discounts. He told me that was the reason my regular AD is not selling Omega anymore and that the store across the street is not receiving any new product and is just selling what they have left. Apparently Omega is trying to control discounting and is going the company-owned boutique route.I tried on this watch and loved it:A Chopard Mille Miglia has always been on my list but I think this one just kicked it out and replaced it.It's an incredible
