Finally joined the AP fraternity! ***INCOMING***
Well after months of pondering and a final decision made last week I finally bought my first AP with our trusted seller DavidSW. I dealt with Dan from DavidSW as I had dealt with him on something else in the past. He was amazing to deal with and very patient to answer many phone calls and texts. It arrived this morning from Orlando and u rushed home as my wife called to say that Fedex truck showed up again!I went with the SS diver as I am in love with this particular model. It comes with the OEM strap and Dan hooked me up with a black hornback as well as the new SS bracelet. Thanks Dan at DavidSW for a flawless transaction and delivery to Canada! Here are some pics
Sadly my longtime favorite dealer is hanging it up
Jim at Continental Jewelers in Washington, DC, has decided to close out his watch business. As many of you recall, Jim's leased location was demolished for new construction several years ago. Because of his age (he will be 83 in October) and Omega's move from ADs to boutiques, Jim decided not to go with the expense of a new show room which meant losing his AD status with Omega. He has been able to continue business as usual but now due to his wife's illness, his intent is to be closed down by the end of the year. He has a couple of hundred watches that he needs to move so if you are looking for a new one, now is the time to give Jim a call.Jim asked me to thank all of his customers and forum friends for their prayers and support.
Patek Geneva
A few of us from this forum are off to Geneva next week for 5 days at Patek. 15 North American collectors were invited by Patek, Henry Stern Agency, and the best damn AD in the US to do this trip. We were very blessed and fortunate to be among the 15. We will do our best to document everything we are allowed to. VC is going to give me some do’s and don'ts over the weekend. Frem is also going to give me tutoring on how to photo document a trip. In no way should anyone think we will live up to Frem, but we will do our best. I have been looking forward to this for a long time. It is a bit of a pilgrimage for me.
Rolex ambassadors
Noticed federer and tiger woods are rolex ambassadors can you guys tell me anymore?I know AP has anthony joshua, lionel messi, serena williams and even arnie i think! Plus more
President Bracelet on a 16238?
It is my understanding that Rolex has never offered any 36-mm models other than the Day-Date with a President bracelet. So imagine my surprise when I saw an E-series 16238 with a President's bracelet. I figure it has to be an aftermarket bracelet or a post-sale swap. But the bracelet fits the head like it was made for it. No unsightly gaps; it looks like the end pieces were made for the 16238. And the bracelet appears genuine, and it has the proper hallmarks. I assume this is an after-sale swap. Does that make sense? Or is this one of those non-catalog/special order deals? Occam's Razor says the former, but I figure individuals on this board have more knowledge.
