Jaquet Droz The Bird Repeater Watch + Video
I sat here pondering possible "bird" puns and idioms that might apply to an opening statement for discussing this extremely high-end and limited minute repeater automaton - and they all just felt really silly. No jokes need apply because this is a rather cool and serious timepiece by Jaquet Droz that allows you to use your imagination in making up your own nicknames for the Swiss brand's new "The Bird Repeater" timepiece.A couple of days ago we shared with you a?sneak, first-look at The Bird Repeater here. Finally ready for debut, the watch has been the subject of several years of development and a dream for the brand which painstakingly searches for novel ways to connect the modern Jaquet Droz with that of the past. The result is a limited edition of just 16 watches that Jaquet Droz coins as being a "true automaton" with technology dating back to the "age of enlightenment."[youtube youtubewatches-dealer/watch?v=TV-SZQcS23Q&version=3&hl=en_US]Inside The Bird Repeater watch is
The Restoration Of The Girard-Perregaux Caliber 350, The Most Important Quartz Watch You've Neve
Quartz. We pretend it's not there, but it defines the modern world of watchmaking. And yet, once upon a time, it was the new kid on the block an unknown quantity whose influence had yet to be felt. We're very pleased to present to you one of the most important and influential watches you've probably never heard of: the Girard-Perregaux Caliber 350. Asking many watchmakers what they think about quartz is like asking a die-hard American conservative what they think about government regulation. There is a visceral hatred of this technology that was both so much more accurate and so much cheaper than mechanical movements. It very nearly turned Swiss watchmaking into American watchmaking (that is to say, obsolete.) This disdain has led to some amazing innovations and some incr
Patek 5905P
Hi,I've been exploring Pateks lately and have come across the 5905P. For those who don't know it; it's an annual calendar and a 60 minutes chronograph in platinum:I think it's a beauty but then to acquire it I need to flip the 15407ST and the panda ROO as I've decided not to spend any cash on watches in 2017. Not sure what to do but Patek bug has bitten me. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that I'll regret the trade down the road. The 15407 is a beauty. Thoughts?
