Looking for buying advice...long post
I'm about to close on my first AP and thankfully, it'll be my grail ROO (rb2ti). I know that everyone says buy the seller and not the watch. The watch appears to be complete. Second, I asked for a pic of the back and called AP clearwater to confirm the serial number and everything matches. Third, I reached out a friend of mine that lives in the seller's city and asked him if he knew anyone at the local AP dealer that could look over the watch for me. Service mainspring only?
Question about service. My moonwatch has a broken mainspring (I think). It winds until you hear an audible skip inside the movement, then keeps winding. Keeps time ok now, but power reserve has gone way down.Until I broke it the watch was winding smoothly, running perfectly, etc.Took it to an NYC watchmaker and they would only do a full service... but what if I just want this one problem fixed for now?Is that possible? bad idea? any recommendations in the NYC area? Thanks
