UTS Adventure GMT
12 years ago Mechanical Engineer and watch collector Nicolaus Spinner had a vision to create his own watch. Having access to the latest CNC machines in Munich, Germany helped make the dream a reality. The UTS Commander was born, a unique watch case that featured a 45mm case with front and back sapphire crystals. Fast forward and UTS Watches is proud to present the Adventure GMT. Building on the Commander case foundation, UTS adds an automatic Valgranges GMT movement. Super-Luminova glowing in bright blue. Six hex screws connect through front-middle into the back watch case. The Adventure rating is typical conservative rating of an engineer. Each watch is tested well beyond the printed specifications. All watches feature UTS in-house case construction. The Adventure GMT is limited to 200 pieces and priced at $4000.Additional technical information appears below the images, which may be enlarged with a click.Technical SpecificationsGerman Stainless Steel, 1.4404, brushed finishDimensions:
Bremont MBII Review
In little a relatively short time, Bremont has gone from an unheard-of to one of the most popular brands out there. Founded by brothers Nick and Giles English, this thoroughly British company seems to have done everything right to build a brand that is successful at retail, yet appeals to cult watch collectors. Their focus on build quality, over-engineering and authenticity permeates every detail of their watches, speaking to the honest motives of its founders to simply make great timepieces. The story behind Bremont is one worth hearing, as it builds a level of credibility that I think few other brands have. Check out this video, which will also goes over a lot of what makes Bremonts different:Needless to say, they are a brand whose watches we wanted to spend more time with, especially after their very strong showing this year at Basel. Luckily, Bremont was kind enough to lend us one of their definitive models, the MBII, for review. The MBII exemplifies a lot of what Bremont does righ
Man vs. Wild with Bear Grylls
This is a show made by Discovery Channel. The start of the show, Bear Grylls goes to remote areas and illustrates how one might survive. After watching the show many times I saw tonight for the first time that Bear Grylls now wears a Breitling Emergency with rubber strap.Quite a solid watch, I wonder if he purchased it or Breitling sponsored him.The Breitling Emergency consists of a transmitter which is activated (for 48 hours) by unscrewing a protective cap and pulling the antenna out fully. Over flat terrain or calm seas, the transmitter signal has a range of about 160Km (assuming the search aircraft is flying at an altitude of 6000m).The watch is 43mm with a titanium case and a black dial.
Please help! PO Chrono - real??
Hi,I am considering taking a watch (~2009 Omega Planet Ocean Chrono, pictured below) on trade, and I am scared to death of the PO fakes out there. I tried it on and it feels well made. I am a Rolex guy and have no experience with Omega so I don't know what to look for. I snapped a quick pic with my cellphone, but it's not the best quality. It will come with box, papers, etc. No steel band, just the rubber one. Anyway, the guy seems really nice and knowledgeable, but you just never know with all the fakes out there. Is the helium valve in the correct place? What about the numbers/writing?Thanks a million!Ed

What is the cheapest way to get a Glidelock bracelet for my Explorer II ref 16570? Could I just get a clasp and not replace the entire bracelet?
