15202+15400 @ NY boutique today
so after having been SO convinced of the 15400 blue dial, i've been twisted around by being introduced to the 15202.the rep at the boutique contacted me to let know that a 202 had just come in (reserved for another buyer), and that i should see both side-by-side to make final judgment.and so, here's what i observed (and most of this is obviously my subjective POV):- the blue on the 202 is definitely (far more) matte than the 400...the difference is immediately noticeable. i've previously described the 400's dial to 'sparkle' in different angles of light; the 202 really doesn't sparkle at all, it's very muted (or understated).- the weight and feel of the 202 is considerable less heft than the 400. this point is obvious in terms of size and amount of material of the case/bracelet. however, once worn, the feel is night and day. the 400 you 'feel' it on you...and (good or bad) it's very 'noticeable' (aka bling). whilst the 202 is not noticeable at all (feels like my Explorer 1 or my J
All Praise to APSC in Clearwater
Recently had a mishap with new AP Diver and damaged the bezel after having it for a little over a week. Sent it APSC on the 20 and less than 2 weeks later watch is back from service.
Quantity or Quality?
Hey guys,Need your expert opinion. I am currently contemplating of getting my grail in the form AP 15202 jumbo. Now I have a 15400 in blue, I love it nothing wrong with it but I just feel its a little on the big side for my smallish wrist. I have seen and fit the 15202 although not side by side my 15400. I think the size is perfect for me. So the question is, should I pursue my goal of 15202 or just add another to spice up the collection? Rolex and JLC Reverso comes to mind. For the price of my 15400 plus additional cash to fund for the jumbo, I can acquire a brand new Sub or Hulk or JLC ultra thin. Hence, the title, more variety or go for quality? Other watches:PAM 176, TAG Aquaracer, IWC spitfire chronoCheers!
Ok....this is a serious question!
I have first reserve on a MS ti that should arrive at the dealer later this year, however, since Conkers posted pics of his platinum 44mm I've been thinking about this a lot and it seems that with the new price structure there is only about 7/8k difference between the two.I only want 1 watch in the 44mm size as I like the 42mm but 1 big watch won't hurtThe question is which would you guys get, I don't flip my watches so this question is simply...which is the nicer looking or cooler watch in your opinion?
aquanaut questions
Hey all,I have recently been looking into the aquanaut.the retail price is manageable but I was curious if ADs discount patek sport models at all? I have purchased many watches from my AD so I have a good standing relationship with them but wasnt sure if asking for a discount on a patek sport model is laughable?? Secondly, how durable of a time piece is this? I like to hunt, fish and kayak along with other outdoor activities. Should you baby this piece or is it intended to take some abuse. Am I better off just getting an expii 42mm??
