SIHH 2012 Watch Show Summary: Hello China, Goodbye China
SIHH is a bit like the automobile traffic in Italy. It is crowded and there is only the semblance of organization. Despite a series of reasons why you might thing the entire system should not work, it does. The mania of a trade show convention is ironically melded with the attempt at having a high society event. The contradictions of the show shadow the very industry it serves - and somehow we love it for that. By the way, a shout out to IWC for their incredibly intricate booth design. No detail was spared to make their booth look like a bona-fide Hollywood set on board an aircraft carrier complete with a half jet, fog machines, uniforms, and of course pilot watches.Leaving the 2012 show I have a number of things to report. The most important thing to remember is that 2012 does not represent the plans of 2011. Watch products generally take about three years to plan and develop. APSC Refinishing/Recoating Black APs
Hey guys just have a general question that maybe some of you can answer. I have a black Audemars survivor and wanted to understand what my options were if and when it scratched or dented. It's in mint condition right now but overtime I imagine it'll run into a brick wall somewhere. So have any of you who own a black AP, or one that is coated using their DLC process scratched or dented the case enough to show the loss of material, if so is that something that is repairable?

What is the smallest speed master?
I believe most the speed masters are 40mm is this correct?Do they make any that are smaller?I have a very skinny wrist and anything over 40mm looks too big. I currently have a date just which is 36mm and it fits me nice and was thinking a 16610 sub at 40mm , I like them better then the new ceramic because it is smaller. I have been eying the speed masters lately and fell in love and prob going to get one in the next few months so please let me know if t hey make anything smaller the 40mm

SeaMonster, or Clear Case Back.
One of the charming aspects of the Omega is their Sea Monster (Hippocamp) on the back..It's something I always look for in my Omega....Lately it seems that everybody wants to have a clear case back though........OK, I guess that's cool........but not nearly as cool as that Monster looking back at you..What's your preference ???

Explorer dial question
I am thinking of getting an Explorer 216570 with the black dial. The prices on them look very good. I have never seen one in the flesh. Is the black dial a matte finish or shiney? Hard to tell from looking at pictures. Thanks!
