PP as a daily....
Any AD's I've spoken to laugh when I ask this question. They state clearly that Patek is making watches that last a lifetime or three, and that it can surely be, or even should be, a daily watch. Further on, I'm told that many Patek owners have only one watch so clearly it's a daily. However, I have read that it should not be. I personally love my 114060 as my daily, and don't see that changing, but I'm still curious what the experts here think.
Planning Abu Dhabi/Dubai trip
Hey everybody! Wanted to know if there are any good Patek/AL&S dealers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and what kind of prices can I expect compared to US AD. I will be going there this summer and seeing the great pics some TRF members from the Middle East have posted I guess it would be a good idea to visit some watch stores. Any info in ADs, boutiques, prices, taxes for tourists is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Adding a little yellow to the rotation...
Well... I have been hanging out with VC way too much. I have been in search for a 5970J for about 3 months now. My search concluded today. I only found 3-4 5970J’s readily available and for sale in the world on this search. In contrast, I came across ~15 5970P's. If anyone wants a P let me know. Maybe I will be fortunate enough to add the P to my collection one day as well. I saw some good deals on pre-owned P. Many G’s and R’s were offered. I am not kidding. But for now the J is the latest addition!I want to thank SteelerFan and VC for their help. It is really nice to add the old (5970) to the new (5270). And some J to my G... I am going to have to agree with hutchman, the 5270 is a more advanced and exact watch from case to movement. The 5270 represents the present and the future. The 5970 represents the last of the past. And the J is fitting to me because it is the most “classic” of the 5970 references.About the 5970J… It debuted at Basel 2008
Pam 337 or 512....
Thinking of flipping my Rolex Explorer polar for either a 337 or 512. Anyone here have either watches? Any advice?
