Ultra-thin is In at Piaget
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of their legendary caliber 12P, the world's thinnest mechanical self-winding movement at that time, Piaget introduces Caliber 1200P, today's thinnest automatic movement at 2.35mm. The new movement is housed in new limited and unlimited Altiplano models, which at 5.25mm are the thinnest automatic watches on the market today. The Altiplano with Calibre 1200P includes an unlimited version with subsidiary seconds, and a special Anniversary Edition with hour and minute hands only. Both models measure 43mm in diameter and both have multi-level dials and a very clean, modern look. The Anniversary Edition offers a platinum rotor, compared with 22-carat gold in the unlimited models. The Anniversary Edition also features a discrete inscription on the outer edge of the dial, which is adorned with hand guilloch. For the past 50 years, Piaget has been a pioneer and leader in the field of ultra-thin movements. In 1957, Piaget developed Calibre 9P, the world's thinne
Hands-On: With The New A. Lange & S?hne 1815, Downsized To 38.5mm For 2014
Much of the attention given to A. Lange & S?hne focuses on its more complicated watches, like the Pour le Mrite Tourbillon, the Zeitwerk, and even the Grand Complication, but Lange knows how to do simplicity too. At SIHH 2014, Lange released an updated version of the classic time-only 1815 in a smaller 38.5mm case, available in yellow, pink, and white gold. The new 1815 retains many of the design features of its predecessor and will be produced alongside the old 1815 instead of replacing it. Here's a hands-on look at this more classically-sized version of the 1815. 2 OF 6 Last year A. Lange & S?hne updated the 1815 Up/Down, but this release differs in two major ways: 1) The 2013 1815 Up/Down was 3mm larger than its predecessors, jumping from 36mm to 39mm and 2) The new 39mm 1815 Up/Down replaced the 36mm version of the watch. With the new 38.5mm 1815, Lange has actually reduced the case size by 1.5mm but opted to produce both versions of the watch side-by-side, allowing

Help! Foggy crystal after swimming
I am on vacation and went for a swim. About 15 minutes after exiting the pool, my friend asked me how the crown guard lever worked. I assumed I was dry by then but still, I stupidly open and then closed the lever. but the watch didn't appear wet, but even so, I realized this wasn't the smartest thing to do. A half hour later I checked it and it was fine. But fast FWD a few hours later, after dinner I noticed my crystal had gone foggy. So what do I do now? Will it go away? Or does it need service now?
