Davosa Argonautic Ceramic Gunmetal
Davosa is a brand that does things a little differently. Their designs are interesting and their prices are fair for a Swiss made watch. We last took a look at their Vigo GMT model, which was a nice mix of vintage and dress styling with a textured dial, hot orange lume and a quality Swiss ETA 2893-2 movement. This time, we'll be examining a watch that is somewhat the opposite of that a bold, modern diver with mean looks and a dark palette. The Argonautic Ceramic in Gun Metal has a fierce presence that is the result of a bold dial design, high contrast bezel, and a dark grey case. The watch is Swiss made, has a sapphire crystal, water resistance of 300m and an ETA 2824-2 automatic movement inside. For $719, the Argonautic also offers a very good value.Case: Gunmetal IP SteelMovement: ETA 2824-2Dial: BlackLume: YesLens: SapphireStrap: Gunmetal Bracelet, NATOWater Res.: 300mDimensions: 42 x 50mmThickness: 13.5 mmLug Width: 22 mmCrown: 7 x 4.5 mm screw downWeight: 205g on bracelet (our me
Omega Authorized Dealers in US
Can anyone recommend a couple of Omega authorized dealers in the US (other than the big chains) who are willing to cut a good deal?I'm looking to by an Aqua Terra, but not at full price.
Just a thought...
I was on the Rolex section just now and read a post of a member brushing out the PCL's on his GMT, don't throw stones at me as I have no intention of doing it on my 5712 which is IMO absolute perfection but does anyone know someone who ever had the PCL's on Nautilus bracelet brushed out? Of course we are not taking into account the legendary wood chopping 5711 or 3700 don't remember which it is.I suppose it would look great, a little more sporty as the PCL's give them a dressy kind of look, if I had a very big collection I just might be tempted to do it on one of the Nautiluses I would have, anyways I won't have a big collection as I am much happier with 1 to 3 piece collection. If anyone has photos of a Nautilus with brushed PCL's would love to see it.
14060 U Serial Dial Question
I have a U serial 14060. It has the T<25 dial...but I think it's got luminova plots. I was reading the Submariner History iPhone app and it mentioned transitional dials with the T<25 marking that had luminova plots. Dubious that my watch fell into that category, I held it under my lamp for a few seconds...and sure enough, it lit up like a Christmas tree. I always thought it was tritium, so I never really paid attention. I'm mildly annoyed, because I was excited to watch my plots patina over time. I guess mine will stay pearly white. Anyone have any experience with a transitional dial like this? I hadn't heard of it until today. Hmmmmm....
Rolex BLNR on RubberB
Well after receiving the strap last week, and the burgeon tool, I managed to change the rubber strap on my Tudor Pelogas, as that is what i brought it with, too the bracelet, was a little tricky, but then found that the bracelet needed sizing. So a visit to my Ad was in order, Now as it was a little tricky for me, I decided to take the BLNR and strap with me to the dealer to see if they would change it for me.After doing the tudor, I asked if they would mind doing the BLNR for me, No of course not, will be a couple of minutes.Came out a happy chappy, feels good, now do I get one for the SubLVc?? with green stripe..HHHmmmmmDid try on the BB Blue while I was there....nice.
